Okay so I was scrolling through the internet (as one does) and I found this article. Honestly at first I was like "Is this real life?" because like striving to be the best is kinda my brand right? But then I kept reading and it actually got me thinking.

Robert Walters Who?

So this Robert Walters dude who's like a big shot at AT&T (lol remember landlines?) is saying that instead of trying to be the BEST performer you should aim to be among the TOP performers. Basically don't be a Regina George be more of a… Kris Jenner but for your team. Make sense? It's about creating a supportive environment not a total 'my diamond earrings are bigger than yours' situation.

Realizing Stuff

Apparently Robert used to be all about that 'best performer' life but then he realized it wasn't working when he was leading a team. He was like too busy judging people who weren't as amazing as him (relatable jk!). But then he realized that focusing on everyone's growth actually made the whole team better. I mean duh! We're all in this together people! Like even I need my glam squad you know?

And then this Simon Sinek guy chimes in saying that winning isn't even a thing! It's all about momentum. It's kinda like when I launch a new Kylie Cosmetics collection – it's not just about the first day sales it's about keeping the hype going you know? An 'infinite mindset' he calls it... Sounds kinda deep I guess.

Stacking Days and Diamond Rings

Robert's thing is 'stacking days,' which is like focusing on small improvements every day. Okay I can get behind that. Maybe instead of buying like five new Birkin bags a week (jk I only buy three) I can focus on like learning a new TikTok dance every day. Small steps people! Small steps!

So yeah maybe it's not all about being the ultimate undisputed queen bee (although let's be real I kinda am). Maybe it's about lifting up the people around you so we can all shine together! I mean who knows maybe I'll start a Kylie Cosmetics mentorship program. Or maybe I'll just get another lip kit out. We'll see! Anyway if you need to change your career there is a course apparently.
