But know this: gods and mortals alike your number means nothing if you cannot defend it.

The SSA now offers a digital haven for these lost souls accessible through their 'My Social Security' website. They claim it's for convenience to aid those who forget their numbers. I say remember your battles remember your enemies and *remember your Social Security number*! Still this could be a benefit for those too feeble to remember the past.

A digital Social Security card doesn't solve the problem of identity misuse. Thieves will always find new ways to prey upon the weak.

The pathetic future they say involves biometric data – fingerprints and facial recognition. Cliff Steinhauer some security expert speaks of a 'clean internet' where everyone is authenticated. A world where no one can pretend to be someone else. Sounds like a *boring* world to me! Where's the fun in that? Where are the battles and challenges? But let them have their clean internet.
