Four hundred billion added to their... 'market cap.' Such frivolous terms. Yet a figure of significance even to one who has held the power of gods. Now they stand just under three trillion. 'Trillion'… a number as meaningless as the promises of Zeus. But the mortals cheer they always cheer until the next calamity befalls them. It was Apple's best day since 1998 a time when a mortal named Steve Jobs ruled as interim CEO before their... 'iPod' was unveiled. Apple the most 'prominent name' to be struck by Trump's tariffs. Before this… temporary reprieve they were on their worst four day stretch since 2000. Bah! Investors… they worry. They always worry. They fear Apple's reliance on… 'physical devices.' Baubles and trinkets made in distant lands. China Vietnam India... These are not lands of gods and monsters but factories and laborers. Yet they are as vital to this realm's power as the forges of Brok and Sindri were to mine.

Trump increased tariffs on China to one hundred twenty five percent up from fifty four. A petty squabble between mortals! Yet it affects the very fabric of their economy. China retaliated with tariffs of their own. Foolish mortals! Do they not understand that war is inevitable? The only question is when and on what battlefield. 'Boy! Ready your Axe we might be going shopping soon!

A Glimmer of Hope... or Deceit?!

Tariffs on Vietnam and India were reduced. A chance for Apple to shift production away from China. They seek to lessen reliance. A wise strategy. But even diversification is not enough to escape the inevitable. Remember hope is a dangerous weapon. It can blind you to the true nature of your enemies. "Do not be sorry be better!" But I see no better action from this mortals only time will tell.
