A look at how zero-day-to-expiration options are amplifying market volatility, leaving investors on edge.
A look at how zero-day-to-expiration options are amplifying market volatility, leaving investors on edge.

Market Gone Wild! Nothing Is Over!

They're playing games out there games with numbers and charts. I see these 'zero day to expiration options' – fancy words for gambling plain and simple. Contracts that vanish faster than a whisper in the jungle. Volume's up they say like a fever spreading through the stock market. 'Zero day,' they call 'em but to me it sounds like a countdown to disaster. Remember what I told Murdock? 'Nothing is over!' Well the chaos is just beginning.

Quick Buck or Quick Sand? I Don't Think So!

These 'options' are supposed to be a tool like a knife. You can use it to survive or you can cut yourself to pieces. They say it's for a 'quick buck' or to 'hedge against sudden moves.' But out in the wild there are no quick bucks. Only hard earned survival. These so called experts they talk about balancing positions. Sounds like a high wire act without a net to me. I've seen better odds wrestling a grizzly bear.

Gasoline on a Fire! Live for Nothing or Die for Something!

One of those so called 'financial experts' says it's like 'gasoline on a fire.' He's not wrong. This market's got enough problems without throwing more fuel on the flames. Volatility is surging they say. Surging like a river after a monsoon! I've seen more stable situations in a POW camp. What is worth it? 'Live for nothing or die for something.' Are these fleeting profits worth the risk?

The Ghost Market! They Drew First Blood Not Me!

They keep saying 'intraday volatility' and 'close to close basis.' Sounds like ghosts dancing in the shadows. This ain't no war I recognize! The S&P took a nosedive almost a bear market they say. Makes you wonder if anyone's really in control. They drew first blood in 2008 and they might draw it again.

Robinhood's Game! To Survive A War You Gotta Become War!

And then there's 'Robinhood,' making it all 'accessible' to the masses. Handing out loaded guns to people who don't know which way to point them. Retail investors they call 'em. Amateurs in a professional brawl! If you want to survive a war you gotta become war. So they think they are smart? Think they are ready? I have seen worse in Vietnam.

Hedging or Gambling? Pain Is Only Temporary!

Decades of 'institutional tools,' they say. Now everyone wants to play. But options are just a fancy word for bets and in this market the house always wins. Are you hedging or are you gambling? Make your choice but remember: pain is only temporary but glory never lasts.
