Shiny New Toys... I Mean AI Ads!
Okay okay so *apparently* Reddit's got these new shiny... things. They call 'em AI powered advertising tools. Sounds complicated right? Like trying to explain the rules of Fishbones to a goldfish! Apparently these things are supposed to help brands... you know... 'connect' with people. Blegh! I connect with people just fine... by blowing stuff up!
Reddit Community Intelligence: Turning Chaos into... More Chaos?
So this Reddit Community Intelligence engine thingamajig... it turns 'posts and comments into structured intelligence.' Structured? Ha! Last time I checked the internet was a beautiful mess of cats memes and conspiracy theories about Powder. Trying to 'structure' that is like trying to put a leash on Chaos itself. Good luck with that Reddit!
Reddit Insights: Real Time Insights or Real Time Boredom?
They're also rolling out something called Reddit Insights which gives marketers 'real time insights.' Real time? Sounds like a lot of numbers and charts which is basically a fancy way of saying 'nap time.' I prefer my insights the old fashioned way: by causing enough mayhem that people start telling me what I wanna know!
Conversation Summary Add ons: Sugarcoating the Boom?
And get this: Conversation Summary Add ons! Apparently brands can use these to show 'positive' user content under their ads. Positive? Ugh gag me with a spoon! Where's the fun in that? Give me the juicy controversial stuff! The things that make people wanna throw their keyboards at the screen! That's entertainment baby!
Brands Tapping Into Authenticity? More Like Tapping Into My Nerves!
"These are tools for a new era of community marketing one where brands can tap into Reddit's authenticity..." Oh please! 'Authenticity'? Sounds like a load of hooey to me! Last time I tried to be 'authentic,' I ended up painting the whole town in glitter and setting off a chain reaction of explosions. Maybe I should offer them my consulting services.
Trade Wars and Sluggish Sales? Sounds Like a Party!
And get this there's a whole bunch of financial mumble jumble about trade wars and sluggish sales. Sounds boring. But I know about boom! And sluggish? Hahaha. Sales are good. It is always better to be on the winning side my friend. But I still like a good BOOM what about you? Reddit is gonna be rich! And it is gonna be mine. Or at least a small part of the fun is!
