JARVIS Is This Real Life?

Alright people settle down! Word on the street – or rather from the White House – is that the big cheese himself President Trump is still mulling over the idea of giving Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell the boot. Kevin Hassett some economic guru according to Pepper mentioned that Trump and his team are 'studying the matter.' Studying? Last time someone 'studied' something that closely I ended up battling a dude in a souped up suit. Not ideal trust me.

Playing Politics...Or Just Badly?

Apparently Trump's been giving Powell the side eye for not slashing those interest rates. Accusations of 'playing politics' are flying faster than my repulsor rays. And Trump apparently thinks he can 'evict' Powell 'real fast.' Sounds like a line from a poorly written action movie. Maybe I should consult Happy Hogan on this he loves this kind of stuff.

Hassett's Backpedaling Faster Than I Can Say 'Iron Man'

Now here's where it gets interesting. Hassett the economic advisor in question seems to be doing some serious backpedaling. Apparently he wrote a book where he said firing Powell would be a terrible idea and potentially tank the economy. Now he's all 'Oh times have changed! New legal analysis!' What new legal analysis? Did he suddenly find the lost scrolls of Keynesian economics? I think the best version of the truth always exists in the middle.

The Supreme Court: Not Just for Superheroes Anymore

Apparently there's a case brewing in the Supreme Court about Trump firing some Democrats from federal labor boards. This is all being viewed as a potential precedent for whether he could legally give Powell the heave ho. So basically the fate of the American economy hinges on a court case about…labor boards? Remind me to add 'understand legal precedent' to my to do list. Right after 'perfect nanotech suit.'

Powell Stands His Ground: 'I Am Inevitable!'

Powell's not backing down without a fight. He's basically channeling his inner Thanos saying he's not leaving the law's on his side and he intends to serve out his term until 2026. Good for him! At least someone around here has a backbone. Although maybe not the best strategy. Should have asked me I could have provided the best strategy!

What Does This All Mean? More Mayhem Probably.

Look all this economic drama is just a headache waiting to happen. Markets don't like uncertainty. And frankly neither do I. So while these guys are busy playing political chess I'll be over here making sure the world doesn't explode. Again. Because you know someone has to be the responsible adult right? I mean come on who else is gonna do it?! You want chaos? Because this is how you get chaos!
