Oops I Did it Again: Oracle's Five Day Glitch
Alright folks Tony Stark here reporting live from the front lines of… well not a battlefield but a digital disaster zone! Seems Oracle you know the 'giant tech company' Oracle had a bit of a 'whoopsie' at Community Health Systems (CHS) hospitals. Apparently some engineers were doing the digital equivalent of changing a lightbulb and accidentally tripped the breaker for like five days. Five days! I've spent less time rebuilding my arc reactor after a Mandarin attack. Word on the street is they mistakenly deleted some critical storage connected to a key database. I mean come on that's like accidentally nuking the power grid while trying to fix a flickering lamp. Classic.
Paper Jam: Back to the Stone Age of Healthcare
So what happens when the digital lights go out? Apparently CHS hospitals decided to time travel back to the Stone Age of healthcare – cue the paper records! Can you imagine doctors and nurses actually having to you know *write* things down? It's like asking Pepper to balance the company books with an abacus. Becker's Hospital Review says about 45 hospitals were affected. That’s like half the Avengers having to fill out incident reports in triplicate. The spokesperson said there was 'no material impact'. I am sure they were very busy trying to find where they stored all of the paperwork from the 20th century.
No Cyberattack? Just Good Old Fashioned Human Error
The good news? This wasn't some nefarious cyberattack orchestrated by Ultron’s digital descendants. Nope just good old fashioned human error. You know the kind where someone accidentally presses the self destruct button instead of the 'save' button. We've all been there right? Right? Seriously though CHS is patting themselves on the back for how well their teams handled the situation maintaining services and delivering 'high quality safe care'. Which let's be honest probably involved a lot of frantic scribbling and hoping they could read their own handwriting later.
Oracle's EHR Woes: A Recurring Nightmare?
Now here's where it gets a little spicy. This isn't Oracle's first rodeo with EHR system snafus. Remember that little $28.3 billion acquisition of Cerner back in 2022? Yeah well that’s been about as smooth as a ride on the Hulk’s shoulders. Oracle's also wrestling with a 'thorny years long EHR rollout' with the Department of Veterans Affairs complete with 'patient safety concerns'. It is so serious that the agency had to launch a strategic review of Cerner. Sounds like someone needs a little Stark Industries tech to iron out those kinks. Maybe I should send Rhodey over there. Or not...
Back Online But the Scars Remain
So the systems are back online and CHS hospitals are scrambling to get back to 'normal operations'. But let's be real the digital wounds are probably still fresh. I imagine there are a few engineers hiding under their desks praying that no one asks them to reboot anything for a while. I guess they'll be extra careful next time they try maintenance work. Next time they are probably going to call me!
Meanwhile at Stark Tower...
While Oracle's busy untangling its digital spaghetti I'll be here innovating and ensuring that my tech stays online because you know the fate of the world might depend on it. Plus I've got better things to do than handwrite reports – like inventing new ways to annoy Pepper. Jarvis play some AC/DC. And maybe order a pizza. Extra pepperoni. This heroing thing makes a guy hungry.

Oracle needs to get their act together!

I bet the IT department is having a really bad week.

At least it wasn't a cyberattack...
