Stark Reality: The Fed's Playing Games!

Alright people listen up! Your friendly neighborhood Iron Man here trading in the suit for a Bloomberg terminal… temporarily. So Goldman Sachs is saying there are "opportunities" amid all this tariff hullabaloo and the Fed's tap dancing routine? Classic Wall Street – always finding a way to spin chaos into gold. Or vibranium if you're lucky. Apparently the Fed's humming and hawing about interest rates still hinting at two cuts this year. It's like watching a kid try to decide which flavor of ice cream to get – just pick one already! As Tony Stark I can make split second decisions to save the world; these guys can't decide on interest rates. What is this amateur hour?

Tariff Tango: When Will This Dance End?

And then there are the tariffs looming like Obadiah Stane in a back alley. Dangoor from Goldman is saying the next couple of months will show how bad the tariff shock will be. No kidding! It's like saying 'We'll know if the bomb exploded after it explodes.' Brilliant! The uncertainty is killing everyone including my stock portfolio. I swear if Trump extends those tariff deadlines one more time I'm building a tariff proof suit. Think of it – titanium alloy lined with negotiation skills. It'll be the best armor since Mark I minus the whole 'built in a cave with scraps' thing. I prefer state of the art labs thank you very much.

Credit Crunch? More Like Credit Brunch!

Dangoor's getting all excited about income plays because credit spreads are "frustratingly expensive." Translation: Everything costs too much. But apparently corporations are being good little capitalists and behaving themselves. Disciplined behavior? From corporations? That's rarer than finding a decent cup of coffee in Siberia. He wants to build portfolios for "carry," which sounds like a yoga pose Pepper taught me. Maybe I should add corporate discipline to my suit’s AI. 'Jarvis remind me to not overspend on palladium alloys!'

Securitized Shenanigans: CLOs to the Rescue?

Now we're talking about securitized products specifically CLOs. Collateralized Loan Obligations – it sounds like something Pepper would file under 'Things Tony Will Never Understand.' But Dangoor likes 'em especially the AAA rated ones. High quality apparently. He's drooling over the Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (JAAA) which has a yield of 5.35%. Sounds like a decent return I guess. Although honestly I'm more interested in the 'AAA' rating. Must mean it's as strong as my armor plating right? Flows into CLOs are strong. Light supply and strong demand. Sounds like one of my parties pre Avengers. Minus the global financial implications.

New Issues & Vintage Loans: Like Fine Wine But With More Risk!

Dangoor's all about the new issue CLOs. "Long reinvestment period," he says like that's supposed to mean something to me. And the opportunity to create a portfolio of new vintage loans underwritten to the current environment. Underwritten? Sounds like a fancy way of saying "hoped for the best." I bet even Rhodey's struggling to keep up with this financial jargon. He probably just nods and smiles hoping no one asks him to explain it. Smart move Rhodey smart move. But hey if it means more cash flow for Stark Industries I'm all ears.

CMBS: Commercial Mortgage Backed... What Now?

And lastly he's eyeing commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS). Single asset single borrower CMBS on high quality office collateral. Translation: Fancy office buildings where I could probably set up a new lab. He says they offer “attractive value” if you’re willing to do the "underwriting work." Sounds like someone needs to invent a CMBS analyzing AI. Jarvis get on it. If I’m going to invest in mortgages they better be mortgage on a place where I can park my suit collection. I mean priorities people!
