Right then let's dive into this mess shall we? Seems our friends in Ukraine are in a bit of a pickle – again. A 30 day ceasefire they say. Unconditional they say. Sounds a bit like 'trust me' coming from a snake charmer doesn't it? According to sources leaders from Britain France Germany Poland and Ukraine convened in Kyiv the heart of the matter to make this grand announcement. As usual it seems only the tombs that I raid are less dusty than these political deals.

Trump Card or Fool's Gold?

Now here's the kicker. They had a chinwag with none other than Donald Trump himself. The man wants a quick peace apparently. But let's not forget this is the fella who’s been playing footsie with both sides of the dance floor. One minute he's cozying up to Putin the next he's signing mineral deals with Kyiv. It's like watching a monkey with a machine gun – unpredictable and likely to cause a lot of collateral damage. Personally I don't trust him about as far as I can throw a tank.

Sanctions? I Hate These Guys!

The big guns are threatening 'massive' sanctions if Vlad doesn't play nice. Sanctions on energy and banking? Ouch. That's gotta sting more than a poisoned dart in the jungle. But as our friend Peskov points out there are 'nuances.' Apparently Western military aid to Ukraine has to stop. It seems he want's them to surrender before a truce. It’s all beginning to sound like the Hovitos they give you a prize then they take it away before you get to the end isn't it?

Bravery Express: Next Stop Trouble!

As these leaders rolled into Kyiv on the 'Bravery Express' I couldn't help but wonder if they knew what they were getting into. An air raid warning a sham ceasefire already violated and enough political double speak to fill the Well of Souls. I think I picked the wrong week to give up searching for relics! If they aren't careful they may end up becoming one themselves.

No Illusions Just More… Snakes?

Zelensky bless his heart admits they have 'no illusions' about the ceasefire being breached. So what’s the point? Well it's a gamble. A desperate hope that maybe just maybe things can calm down enough for some proper negotiations. But let's be honest with Medvedev slinging insults like a drunken sailor it doesn't inspire much confidence. I hate snakes!

So here we are. Another potential turning point in this never ending saga. Will Putin take the bait? Will Trump keep his word? Will this ceasefire actually hold? Only time will tell.
