The Shocking Revelation!
Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes...err I mean power grids! It seems our old pal Uncle Sam is gearing up for an electrical renaissance according to GE Vernova's top brass Scott Strazik. He's claiming a power surge unlike anything we've seen since that shindig after World War II. 'You want adventure? Try living through an infrastructure buildout!' I always say. Apparently the U.S. is about to get a jolt worthy of grabbing your fedora and whip!
Deja Vu All Over Again?
1945 huh? That was some year. The world was rebuilding and so was the electrical grid. Strazik says we're on the cusp of a similar explosion driven by both economic needs and the ol' 'national security' card. Remember what Brody always said 'This belongs in a museum!'? Well maybe this time it belongs in a power plant! But seriously this is about keeping the lights on and the bad guys out apparently.
Winners Losers and Technological Tomb Raiding
Now here's where it gets interesting. Strazik admits the past few decades have been a technological free for all with businesses duking it out for dominance. But this time he's painting a picture of collaborative growth fueled by AI and good ol' American ingenuity. Let's hope nobody ends up like that poor sap Donovan at the end of *The Last Crusade*. Choose wisely folks!
GE Vernova Strikes Back!
Word on the street is GE Vernova is doing rather well. They beat expectations their stock is climbing higher than a boulder chasing me down a temple hallway and they're holding firm on their guidance even with those pesky tariffs nipping at their heels. Color me impressed!
Gas: The Unlikely Hero?
Hold on to your hats! Strazik's dropping a bombshell. Gas yes that fossil fuel we love to hate is apparently going to be a key player in this green revolution. They've sold out their gas turbine orders for 2026 and 2027 and gas is supposedly the 'force multiplier' for wind and solar. 'It's not the years honey it's the mileage,' and it seems gas still has some mileage left in it...for now. Data centers hyperscalers... it's all connected apparently!
Decarbonization? I'll Believe It When I See It!
Decarbonizing the grid with gas switching? Sounds like a bit of an oxymoron to me. Strazik claims it's the only way to get the renewable penetration rates the world is aiming for. I'm skeptical but I've seen stranger things in my time (like those bloody Sankara Stones). Let's just hope this plan doesn't unleash any ancient curses or accidentally power up some Nazi super weapon. 'I hate these guys!'

Is this good for the environment? That's the real question.

National security, economic growth... sounds like a recipe for government overspending to me.
