Hmph news reaches even my old ears. It seems the flames of discord are once again licking at the borders of peace this time concerning the lands far east. A 'U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff,' a name that sounds suspiciously like a hobbit trying to sound important is set to parley with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. They seek to unravel the riddle of a nuclear deal a knot tied tighter than a goblin's purse strings. One can only hope they find common ground lest the fires of war consume us all. As I always say 'Fools rush in where even I fear to tread!' It seems that those fools might start a nuclear war!

A Counter Proposal as Murky as Mirkwood

The Iranians it seems find the American offering 'unacceptable.' Unacceptable! As if a Hobbit rejecting second breakfast! They promise a counter proposal but what darkness might it conceal? Trump a leader as unpredictable as a boggart expresses dwindling hope. He seeks limits on their uranium enrichment threatening fire and brimstone should they refuse. 'I have found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.' However there is no kindness and love here!

The Ghosts of Deals Past

Ah the tangled web they weave! Trump during his reign cast aside the old deal a pact between Iran and the world powers like a discarded Elven cloak. Now the relationship festers like an orc wound. They speak of past grievances of coups and drone strikes. It is a long tale fraught with peril and distrust. As I recall 'Deeds will not be less valiant because they are unpraised.' But what can be praised about what happened?

The Axis of... Resistance?

The Americans point accusing fingers at Iranian support for 'militant groups,' labeling them a threat to Israel and their interests. These groups self proclaimed 'Axis of Resistance,' stand defiant against Israeli and American influence. 'Not all those who wander are lost,' but these wanderers seem quite intent on causing trouble. It seems that those wanderers did not manage to find a nice cozy place yet!

A Fleeing Eagle?

Trump speaks of withdrawing personnel fearing a 'dangerous place.' A wise move perhaps but does it not embolden the shadows? US intelligence suggests Israel prepares for a strike against Iranian facilities! 'End? No the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path one that we all must take.' However I do not think that this is the kind of path that Trump thinks about!

Hope Remains... Barely

So the stage is set for a dangerous game. Diplomacy teeters on the precipice of war. Whether these meetings will bring light or merely fan the flames remains to be seen. I can only offer my wisdom: 'All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.' Let us hope they choose wisely for the fate of many may hang in the balance. And by the way I am not encouraging anyone to use the Ring of Power!
