Bedrock Blues: The Numbers Are In!

Yabba Dabba Doo! It's Fred Flinstone here bringing you the lowdown on Airbnb's numbers. Now I ain't no financial genius like Mr. Slate but even I can see things are a bit…rocky. They said they made 24 cents a share which is exactly what everyone expected. Revenue was $2.27 billion just a hair over the $2.26 billion prediction. Not bad not great... kinda like Wilma's roast when I forget to bring home the Dino ribs!

Dino Sized Disappointment?

But here's the rub folks. They're saying their revenue for the next few months might be a bit…'eh'. Between $2.99 billion and $3.05 billion. The big brains figured they'd pull in $3.04 billion. That's almost enough to buy a whole extra rack of ribs at the Bedrock Drive In! Apparently Easter gave them a little boost but even that ain't enough to get me doin' the Flintstone Flop with excitement. "In the U.S. we've seen relatively softer results which we believe has been largely driven by broader economic uncertainties," the company said in a letter to shareholders . Economic uncertainties? Sounds like Barney trying to explain why he "borrowed" my bowling ball…again!

Blame Canada! (Or Maybe Just Their Travel Plans)

Now get this they’re blaming Canada! Well not exactly. They say travel from Canada to the U.S. has been a bit…sluggish. Maybe they ran out of those maple flavored Bronto burgers! I tell ya sometimes I think the whole world's gone crazy. But hey at least bookings in Mexico are up so someone's still having a Yabba Dabba Doo time! Nights booked by Canadian guests visiting Mexico jumped 27% from a year ago in March.

Gross Bookings? Sounds Kinda Yucky!

They keep throwin' around terms like 'Gross Booking Value'. Sounds like something Wilma would make me clean up after Dino gets into the garbage! Apparently it's about how much money the hosts make plus the fees and taxes. That number went up 7% so at least someone's makin' clams... err I mean rocks!

Experiences and App Updates: A Whole New World!

Airbnb is also saying they are updating their app for new experiences. Going "beyond places to stay." I don't know what that means! Are they gonna let me ride a dinosaur? Are they gonna start selling bowling balls? Because I've got a whole in my bowling ball so if they did Yabba Dabba Doo!

And get this they got rid of 450,000 listings. I bet half of them had leaky roofs and dinosaurs living in the backyard! Good on them for keeping things up to snuff.
