Intel and TSMC a Joint Venture? I Heard Shrek Has a Summer Home on the Moon First!

Liar Liar Pants on Fire!

Hey everybody! It's Donkey here reporting live from... well wherever Shrek tells me to report from! And lemme tell ya this news is wilder than a disco at a dragon convention! Apparently these techy folks at TSMC and Intel were rumored to be makin' a deal a real 'happily ever after' kinda joint venture. But hold your horses... or should I say hold your dragons! TSMC's CEO this C.C. Wei fella just came out and said 'Nah uh! No discussions here!' Can you believe it? He said flat out no joint venture no technology licensing no nothin'! It's like tellin' me there ain't no more waffles! Heartbreaking I tell ya heartbreaking!

Intel's Got the Blues

Now Intel bless their little silicon hearts they've been havin' a rough time kinda like Shrek before he met Fiona all lonely and misunderstood. Seems they ain't been doin' so hot against the likes of Nvidia AMD and even Apple! Last year they had their worst performance ever like when I tried to make Fiona a romantic dinner and accidentally set the table on fire. They're definitely needin' some lovin' and maybe a fairy godmother's potion! But a joint venture deal? Seems like that's just a swamp gas mirage!

Trump's Tariff Troubles!

And hold on to your ogre ears because there's more! This President Trump fella he's lookin' into trade imbalances and wants to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. That means potential tariffs which are like taxes that could make things really expensive for TSMC and others. It's like Shrek tryin' to charge rent for livin' in his swamp! Not cool man not cool! The Department of Commerce is even investigatin' semiconductor imports. Sounds serious right?

AI Chips to the Rescue!

But here's a little silver lining! TSMC is makin' bank on AI chips. Everyone wants 'em! It's like when everyone suddenly wanted waffles after I mentioned them! They're doin' great but these Trump tariffs could still throw a wrench in the works. They also have to deal with export controls on some of their clients like Nvidia and AMD. It's like trying to get a dragon to follow traffic laws complicated!

Is This the End?

So there you have it folks! No joint venture between TSMC and Intel at least not according to TSMC. Intel didn't comment because they never comment on rumors the company previously said... which is something Shrek always says after some drama but he is not fooling anyone! And Trump's tariffs are hangin' over everyone's heads like a bad batch of Farquaad's stew! Will TSMC survive? Will Intel bounce back? Will I ever get a lifetime supply of waffles?
