Donkey's Big Scoop: What in the Name of Farquaad Just Happened?!
Alright alright settle down y'all! Donkey's here and lemme tell ya I just heard some news that's got me more shook up than when Shrek tries to dance! A helicopter a real flyin' machine crashed into the Hudson River! Can you believe it? Six people gone! It's like something out of a fairy tale gone wrong and not in a fun sing along kind of way. Mayor Eric Adams himself said it's bad and when the big cheese talks Donkey listens. It's the worst helicopter crash in years around here.
New York Helicopters? More Like 'New York Headaches'!
Apparently this helicopter belonged to some company called 'New York Helicopters.' Now I ain't one to point fingers but if your company name is followed by a big splash in the river you might wanna rethink your business model! They were too busy to give comment. I guess 'Silence is golden' until you face the music? They offer sightseeing tours ya know showin' fancy folks the sights from way up high. But this time the view was a bit too…immersive.
Family Tragedy: A Vacation Turned Nightmare!
This is the part that really gets my tail twitchin'. Some of the folks on board were a family visitin' all the way from Spain. Just picture it: excited kids parents ready to make memories and then… sploosh! Three adults and three kids… gone. It's enough to make even this Donkey shed a tear. *Sniff* Do you ever think maybe they should have taken a taxi?
Eyewitness Accounts: 'She Lost a Propeller Donkey!'
Some folks saw the whole thing happen. One eyewitness told NBC New York that the helicopter lost a propeller! A PROPELLER! That's like losin' a wing mid flight! Sheesh! No wonder it went nose down into the drink. Apparently some other video showed it upside down in the river. Not a pretty picture folks not pretty at all.
Flight Path: From High Hopes to Deep Waters
The helicopter took off from the Downtown Manhattan Heliport flew up the Hudson got all the way up to 1,100 feet and then…bam! Last contact was off of Hoboken New Jersey. That's like saying 'Hi Statue of Liberty!' and then 'Goodbye world!' The flight records show it had been flyin' this route for days. Routine ya know? Until it wasn't. *shivers*
The Aftermath: Investigators on the Scene! (And Donkey Too!)
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are on the case. They're gonna figure out what happened and hopefully make sure this kinda thing doesn't happen again. The NYPD is telling folks to expect delays around the West Side Highway. So if you're headin' that way maybe take the swamp route instead. You'll probably run into me! Remember that time Shrek? Anyway this ain't the first helicopter crash in Manhattan which makes you think...are helicopters just not meant to fly here? Stay safe out there folks! And maybe stick to ground transportation… Unless you have a dragon friend like me of course!

They need to shut down those helicopter tours immediately!
