Hi Dreamhouse Dwellers! It's Barbie here reporting live from well my Dreamhouse! But the news isn't all sunshine and convertible rides today. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent (totally not as stylish as Ken BTW) said that President Trump wants Main Street to like *totally* thrive even though these new tariffs are giving everyone major recession anxiety! Bessent's all 'Wall Street's had its fun now it's Main Street's turn!' It's like when I let Skipper borrow my favorite pink sparkly dress – sharing is caring right?

Tariffs? More Like Terrifying!

Okay so these tariffs? Not cute. Apparently they've caused the stock market to have a major meltdown the biggest since like forever ago (aka 2020). Bessent says it’s Main Street's time to shine hire workers drive investment and restore the American Dream. I mean I *love* a good dream but this sounds a little…complicated even for me and I've been a doctor a lawyer and an astronaut! 'Think positive!' is my motto but even I am concerned.

From Hedge Funds to…Helping Main Street?

So get this: Bessent used to hang out on Wall Street running a fancy investment firm. Now he's Trump's main economic guy. Talk about a career change! It's like when Ken tried to be a hairstylist – bless his heart. Bessent is pushing for tax cuts and stuff saying we need to "de leverage the government sector re leverage the private sector." Sounds important but I’m not sure my pink convertible runs on leverage…or de leverage. Someone explain it to me like I'm Barbie please!

Tax Cuts and No Tax on Tips? Seriously?!

Bessent's also throwing around ideas like no tax on tips Social Security or overtime! If that happens maybe I can finally afford that solid gold Dreamhouse I've been eyeing. Recession fears are creeping in as Trump's tariffs cause like *major* confusion about the trade war's impact. It's all very dramatic. I need a spa day.

Jamie Dimon Says 'Recession'! Is This My Cue?

Even JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon thinks a recession is looming because of this trade battle! Oh no! This sounds serious. Maybe I should start saving my allowance from Ken. Just kidding!
