Dreamhouse in the Desert! Disney Park Coming to Abu Dhabi!

Come on Barbie Let's Go Party (in Abu Dhabi)!

Hi Dreamhouse dwellers! Barbie here reporting live from well my Dreamhouse (for now!). But guess what? Pack your pinkest suitcases because there's a brand new destination to add to our travel bucket list! Disney is building a theme park and resort in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island! Can you believe it? As I always say 'Life in plastic it's fantastic!' But life with Mickey Mouse AND futuristic architecture? Even MORE fantastic!

Miral ous Partnership: Magic Meets the Emirates

So here's the lowdown. Disney is teaming up with Miral the amazing folks who create immersive experiences to make this dream a reality. Miral is building the whole thing while Disney's Imagineers (basically the Ken s of creative design) will sprinkle their pixie dust to make sure everything is absolutely perfect! Apparently CEO Bob Iger said it's a thrilling moment and that Abu Dhabi appreciates arts and creativity. I mean who doesn't love a little sparkle and art? And the best part? It will have contemporary architecture so I can feel like an architect Barbie on vacation!

No Investments? That's a choice!

Now hold your horses – or should I say unicorns? Disney isn't actually investing any of their own cash in building this park. They're just lending their creative genius and raking in those sweet sweet royalties. As Barbie always says "Math is hard!" but this sounds like a pretty smart deal even for me! But this doesn't count towards the $60 billion they pledged to invest in the theme parks for the next decade. How exciting!

Imagineering in Overdrive: A Whole New World!

According to Josh D'Amaro Chairman of Disney Experiences this Abu Dhabi resort is going to be the most advanced and interactive one yet! They want to use the beautiful waterfront location to tell stories in "completely new ways". I'm picturing underwater castles synchronized swimming shows with mermaids and maybe even a Ken themed waterpark! A Barbie can dream can't she?

Yas Island: The Ultimate Playground Just Got Bigger!

Yas Island is already a hotspot with Ferrari World Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World! Now throw in a Disney park and it's like the ultimate playground for every Barbie and Ken in the universe! The area also has the largest mall in Abu Dhabi and an award winning golf course. I wonder if they'll let me design a special pink golf cart? After all you can be anything right?

From Dreamhouse to Dessert: Dubai Here We Come!

So when will this magical oasis open its doors? Even Bob Iger is keeping that a secret for now but Barbie will keep you posted! In the meantime I'm brushing up on my Arabic and perfecting my sandcastle building skills. After all a Barbie always needs to be prepared for her next adventure!
