I've seen more believable stories from a pug in a tuxedo. We're talking $1.60 per share adjusted against an expected $1.40. Revenue is up too. Now I ain't no financial wizard but when numbers jump like that it's either really good news or the Slugs are manipulating the stock market again. Gotta keep my Neuralyzer handy...

The Numbers Game: Smoke and Mirrors?

So revenue's up 0.6% which is like saying a Boglodite's only *slightly* ugly. Net income however took a dive. Now I know what you're thinking: "Jay what's net income?" It's the money they *actually* made people! Down from $1.61 billion to $1.06 billion. That's a bigger drop than when Frank the Pug tries to catch a frisbee. They're blaming the 'macroeconomic environment.' Right. Sounds like alien interference to me.

Mainframes: More Than Just Big Boxes?

Here's where it gets interesting. Their software is up 7% that's good. Consulting is slightly up whatever. But the infrastructure division the one with the mainframes? Down 6%. Now you might think 'Who cares about mainframes?' But those things are powerful! They could be hiding anything in there. My gut tells me they are hiding alien technology in it! It's a trap! I betcha they're reverse engineering some Neuralyzer tech. I'm on to you IBM!

Acquisitions: Buying Their Way to the Top?

IBM went on a shopping spree they settled some lawsuits (probably to keep the truth about the aliens quiet). They snagged HashiCorp for $6.4 billion and planning to acquire DataStax. Sounds like they're trying to build a tech empire...or cover up something bigger. Remember what K told me once? "A person is smart. People are dumb panicky dangerous animals." Applies to corporations too I reckon.

Stock Market Shenanigans: Is the Economy Fluid?

IBM stock is up this year while the rest of the market is tanking. They're outperforming while everyone else is struggling. Makes you wonder. Uncertainty in the market is short term says the CEO? Sure just like the MiB is just a government agency and not hunting aliens and protecting earth from the scum of the universe. I'm keeping a close eye on those stock fluctuations. Something smells fishier than a Cephalopod in a sushi bar.

So IBM had a good quarter or so they say. Me? I'm not buying it. I'm betting there's more to this story than meets the eye.
