Elon Musk Thinks the Fed's Interior Design is So Overpriced, It's Giving 'Rising'!

Is That a Renovation or a Whole New Vibe?

Okay so Elon Musk is like totally side eyeing the Federal Reserve's renovation plans. Apparently they're dropping $2.5 BILLION on their building? That's a lot of lip kits! Elon's all "What do you get for two and a half billion dollars in redecorating?" I mean same. Is it gonna be like solid gold toilets? Because at that price it better be! It's giving 'Riiiiise and Shiiiine' but make it boujee and expensive. I need to know if they are going to do a makeup room or something.

Budgeting? Never Heard of Her!

Apparently the Fed started this whole project back in 2021 with a measly $1.9 billion. But then you know 'stuff' happened. Material costs went up delays site problems… basically my everyday life when trying to launch a new Kylie Cosmetics collection. It's always something right? But like $600 million OVER budget? That's enough to buy like a fleet of G Wagons! I always say 'This is gonna be a good time' but for the Fed this sounds like a lot!

Saving the Planet One Billion Dollar Renovation at a Time?

Okay so supposedly this renovation is all about "energy efficiency" and "meeting building codes." Which like good for them! We love a sustainable queen. But still… $2.5 billion? Maybe they should just invest in some like really good solar panels and call it a day. It's giving Kourtney vibes with all the sustainability but at what cost?

Elon's on a Mission (and a Budget)

Elon being the baller that he is is using his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE – cute name!) to sniff out wasteful spending. He's all about saving taxpayer money. And let's be real who isn't? Like even I know that money doesn't grow on trees – it grows on lip kits! He's basically asking "Can we see the receipts?" And I am HERE for it! It's like show us the receipts.

Taxpayer Money? More Like Designer Handbags!

Okay so technically the Fed isn't funded by taxpayers directly. It's all about interest and fees. But still Elon makes a point right? The Fed Governors get paid with taxpayer money! All that extra money usually goes back to the Treasury unless they are having losses which means that we're spending money on things we don't need. Like is this renovation really necessary? Or is it just a really really expensive flex?

The Fed's Defense: "It's Old!"

The Fed's basically saying their building is ancient like older than my first Birkin. They claim the systems are outdated and the building doesn't meet their needs anymore. Which okay fair. But maybe instead of a complete overhaul they could just like get some new furniture and a fresh coat of paint? Just thinking out loud here. They just really need to 'realize stuff'.
