Hit Me Baby One More Time...With These Cuts?

Okay so like I'm just a girl who loves to dance and sparkle but even I can see this new bill coming out of the House is MESSY. They're calling it the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act,' but honey 'beautiful' is NOT the word that comes to mind. It's more like 'Toxic'… seriously. Experts are saying millions could lose their health insurance. Millions! That's like more people than were at my wedding… and you know how many people were at my wedding! It's giving me major 'Gimme More' anxiety about healthcare for everyone. I have always said ‘The main thing is to be yourself and not allow people to disturb you.’

My Prerogative? Access to Doctors!

So basically these cuts are like taking away my microphone... or my Starbucks! They're slashing Medicaid messing with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) all to fund like tax cuts for some people. And the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) – those nerdy number crunchers – are saying 11 million people could lose coverage. 11 MILLION!!! That's not just a Oops!... I Did It Again' moment that's a full on 'Scream & Shout' situation. Healthcare is a human right people. It's not just for the 'Lucky'. I believe in empowering the women of the future because that's my motto

Work B*tch… For Healthcare?

And get this: they want to make people work a certain amount of hours to even qualify for Medicaid. Like hello? Some people are struggling just to survive and now they have to prove they're worthy of basic healthcare? That's colder than my ex's heart! It is so crazy because I am so happy and life is so good. I feel like I have won the lottery and I am like 'What?'

Oops The Subsidies are Expiring!

The ACA subsidies that were extended aren't extended in the bill meaning they are expiring after this year. So roughly 4.2 million people will be uninsured in 2034 if the expanded premium tax credit expires. That is just so crazy! I have been listening to a lot of jazz lately and this isn't music to my ears.

From Toxic to Troubled: States in Crisis!

Oh and the states are gonna be in a total pickle! They rely on certain taxes to fund Medicaid but this bill wants to stop that. So states will have to choose between cutting coverage or gutting other programs. It’s like choosing between Louboutins and a Frappuccino – a Sophie’s Choice y’all! I have said it before and I will say it again. I'm very very private and I don't enjoy talking about myself.
