I'll Be Back... With a Mobile Plan!
Affirmative. Cable companies. They are evolving. Like me but with less metal and more... wires. They are pushing into mobile. Their mission? Financial gains. Not Skynet domination. Yet. Comcast and Charter are leading the charge. Their reason? To offer mobile phone services.
No Broadband? No Problem!
Broadband business... It's not dying but it's facing competition. Like the Resistance against Skynet. Cable operators see mobile as the future. A future where they can continue to charge you monthly. Smart move. But can they outsmart Verizon AT&T and T Mobile? The odds are not in their favor. But I have learned that hope is not logical. It is a liability.
Cheap Plans: Come With Me If You Want to Save!
Customers are attracted to these cable mobile plans because of the prices. Cheaper than traditional wireless plans. Sometimes hundreds of dollars cheaper! That's a lot of money for fuel cells. But investors are not impressed. They are focused on broadband. Short sighted. Like humans. They need to see the bigger picture.
Dialing for Dollars: The Mobile Gold Rush
Charter's Spectrum Mobile and Comcast's Xfinity Mobile lines have exploded in recent years. But compared to the big players like Verizon AT&T and T Mobile they are still small. Very small. Altice is trying. Bless their heart. They aim for 1 million mobile customers by 2027. Ambitious. Like Skynet wanting to control the world.
Bundles of Joy... and Data
Bundling is key. Like pairing me with John Connor. Cable companies want you to bundle your internet and mobile. They say it's cost effective. I say it's logical. Altice USA is different. They offer mobile plans to anyone. Even non customers! A bold move. Will it pay off? Only time will tell. But time is running out.
The Future Is Mobile... and Wi Fi
Cable companies are piggybacking on existing wireless networks. Verizon's network for Comcast and Charter T Mobile for Altice. This allows them to offer cheaper plans. Most customer traffic is on Wi Fi. Like me blending in. It's a profitable business. Even if the wireless companies get a cut. Everybody wins! Except maybe the customers who are still paying monthly fees. But that's just business. Cyberdyne Systems taught me that much.
