OMG They're Like Totally Done With It
Okay so you guys know I'm like all about what's hot and what's not. And apparently the Cadillac XT6? Not so hot anymore. Like GM is straight up ending production of it at their Spring Hill plant in Tennessee this year. I heard that they were planning to stop the production because of its underwhelming performance. Can you even imagine? Meanwhile they're keeping the XT5 around 'til at least 2026. Talk about a plot twist!
Vistiq is the New Three Row Bestie
According to the article the XT6 is being replaced by the Vistiq another three row crossover. It looks like they want to go all out on the new cars. Remember when I said 'This is gonna be the year of like realizing stuff'? Well maybe this is GM realizing they need to drop the old and bring in the new. The Vistiq better be serving looks just saying. It has some big shoes to fill or should I say some big tires to fill!
Electric Dreams and Gas Guzzling Realities
So obvi this is all part of Cadillac's plan to go full on electric. But like they kinda walked back on their 2030 EV only dreams which is kinda sus. I feel like they are walking on thin ice here. They're still pumping out gas cars too. A source told me that Cadillac's been launching a bunch of new cars both EVs and gas powered ones. It's like they're trying to have their cake and eat it too. Very relatable tbh. They are just like me when I can't decide what to order in a restaurant.
XT5: The Comeback Kid?
Here's the tea: The XT5 is sticking around because of 'strong customer demand.' Which like duh! Everyone loves a classic. Plus it was Cadillac's third best selling vehicle last year after the Escalade and the Lyriq. Sales for the XT6 have been... underwhelming which is putting it nicely. Remember that time Kendall walked the runway and everyone was like 'meh'? Yeah kinda like that.
Downtime? More Like 'Me Time'
Okay so the plant's gonna have some downtime in May. GM says it's to like adjust inventory and stuff. Which basically means some people are getting temporary layoffs. But hey maybe they can use the time to contour their faces and binge watch 'The Kardashians'? I am really busy with work and family! I cannot imagine how my life would be without those people.
Like Literally the End of an Era?
So yeah the XT6 is getting the axe. Is this the end of gas powered cars? Maybe. Is it the end of three row Cadillac crossovers? Def not. Time to move on to the Vistiq and the Lyriq. I am sure that Cadillac has great plans for its products. I am sure that they will realize great sales results soon. Now if you'll excuse me I have a lip kit to launch and a selfie to take! Bye besties!
