Hit Me Baby One More Time...With a Price Increase?

Okay y'all so I heard this crazy thing from CNBC. Even Walmart like my go to for everything from glittery eyeshadow to emergency snacks (you know 'cause sometimes I forget to eat… Oops!) is raising prices! Apparently these things called 'tariffs' are making everything more expensive. It's like 'Hit me baby one more time' but with a higher bill. As if finding a matching outfit for my snakes wasn't hard enough! And Walmart's CFO John David Rainey thinks that shoppers will likely see increases toward the end of May and more in June. OMG!

Toxic Tariffs: It's Not Just a Song It's Real Life!

So get this: these tariffs are like taxes on stuff coming from other countries. And apparently a lot of what Walmart sells comes from places like China Mexico and even Costa Rica (where they grow like bananas and stuff – yum!). CEO Doug McMillon said tariffs on countries like Costa Rica Peru and Colombia have put pressure on the price of imported items including bananas avocados coffee and roses. It's 'Toxic,' I tell you! It's like trying to find a decent parking spot in Beverly Hills – a total nightmare! But hey at least the prices are going up in June I can handle the rise of prices since my Birthday is in December. He He...

I'm Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman...But Definitely a Price Conscious Shopper!

I'm trying to figure out what this means for me. Like will my favorite brand of hairspray be more expensive? What about those adorable little outfits I buy for my dogs? The horror! But like Walmart says they're trying to keep prices low compared to other stores. So maybe it won't be too bad. I mean I'm not a girl not yet a woman but I'm definitely a price conscious shopper! I need to save my money for important things like diamond collars for my chihuahuas and surprise trips to Vegas!

Gimme More...Discounts! (Please?)

Walmart did give some clues as to which specific items and departments would be most affected by tariffs. About a third of what Walmart sells in the U.S. is made grown or assembled in the country but it relies on goods brought in from dozens of other nations especially China Mexico Vietnam India and Canada. I'm just hoping they don't raise the price on my essential oils. A girl's gotta stay zen even when the world is going crazy! And if they *do* raise prices maybe they could like offer special Britney discounts? 'Gimme More' savings please! Pretty please?!

Stronger Than Yesterday...My Shopping Willpower!

So what's a girl to do? Well according to the article Walmart is getting creative to avoid raising prices too much. They're switching materials and finding new places to get their stuff. Smart! Maybe I should do the same with my outfits. Start making my own glittery crop tops out of recycled materials. It'll be like a whole new era! I'll be stronger than yesterday...and definitely more fashionable! LOL! I am definitely the Queen of Pop and I love reinventing myself and overcoming challenges.

Oops!...I'm Still Gonna Shop There!

Okay so even with the price increases I'm probably still gonna shop at Walmart. I mean where else am I gonna find a bedazzled dog leash and a gallon of coconut water at 3 a.m.? It's just part of my charm ya know? As Rainey said that consumers seek value when prices are higher and that could give Walmart a chance to gain market share.
