Oh My Sweet Waffles! What's This Tariff Fuss?
Alright alright settle down everybody! Donkey's here to tell ya about some serious business! Seems like this whole 'tariff' thingamajigger – that's a fancy word for...uh...making stuff cost more – is gonna hit our wallets harder than Shrek's morning breath! This President Trump fellow wants to slap a 25% tariff on cars and parts made outside the US of A. Twenty five percent! That's like adding a whole extra layer to my parfait! And nobody messes with my parfait!
Ka Ching! Prepare for Sticker Shock!
Now I ain't no economics expert (I leave that to the talking crickets) but even *I* know this ain't good. Apparently car prices are already sky high! We're talkin' near $50,000! That's a LOT of swamp weed! And if these tariffs go through experts are sayin' we could be lookin' at another $6,000 on top of that! Six THOUSAND! At that price I might as well invest in dragon riding lessons! At least I'd get some frequent flyer miles... or should I say frequent *flier* miles?! Get it? 'Cause I'm flyin'?!
Uh Oh! Trouble in Auto Loan Land!
And get this! People are already havin' trouble payin' for their rides! Turns out a bunch of folks are fallin' behind on their auto loan payments. If cars get even more expensive well things are gonna get uglier than Shrek after a mud bath. We might be lookin' at a whole lotta abandoned vehicles lookin' for their fairy tale ending. I hope they find a good home those poor little horseless carriages!
Less Cars More Problems!
This Sam Fiorani fella (sounds like a fancy Italian dessert!) says that car makers are gonna have to decide which cars to keep makin'. That means less choices for us regular folks! And you know what happens when there's less stuff to buy? Yep prices go up AGAIN! It's like a never ending onion; every time you peel a layer you start cryin'!
Popular Cars in the Crosshairs!
Some of the cars that could be hit the hardest are the ones everyone loves! We're talkin' Honda CRVs Chevrolet Traxs and Subaru Foresters. So basically the cars that get us to the swamp the store and everywhere in between. It's like targeting my waffle supply! Unforgivable!
Made in... Where Now?
Turns out a big chunk of the cars we buy in the US aren't even made *in* the US! They come from Canada Mexico Europe Asia...all over! So bringin' all those jobs back home sounds good but it's gonna cost a fortune and take years. It's like trying to rebuild Shrek's swamp from scratch after a dragon barbecue! Possible but a HUGE pain in the... tail!
