Desert Storm Electric Style
Alright check it. Word on the street – and by street I mean the vast sandy autobahn of Saudi Arabia – is Tesla's rolling into town. Yeah the same Saudi Arabia known for more oil than you can shake a neuralyzer at. Talk about walking into the lion’s den but with a fancy electric scooter. They’re launching this whole shebang on April 10th pop up stores and all. They think success in the UAE is gonna translate? Let’s hope they brought their Arabic phrasebook: 'Where's the nearest charging station?'
Elon vs. The Oil Barons
So Musk is back in the good graces of the Saudi's huh? Last time I checked things weren't so friendly. Now he's waltzing in while sales are dipping in Europe thanks to some uh 'controversies.' Classic Musk. Always keeping it interesting. They’re promising AI robots the whole shebang. But can it handle a sandstorm? 'Cause those ain't in the brochure. Reminds me of when Zed wanted us to use hovercrafts... Yeah that didn't end well. 'Men in Black' my chrome plated keister!
Saudis Go Green? Seriously?
Here's where it gets tricky. Saudi Arabia’s got skin in the EV game already! They’re bankrolling Lucid Motors got their own factories poppin’ and even a Saudi made EV brand called Ceer Motors coming in 2025. It’s all part of their Vision 2030 deal to ditch the oil dependency. Kinda like trying to teach a shark to knit. But hey if they want to electrify 30% of Riyadh by 2030 more power to 'em. Just gotta wonder if they’re ready for the culture shock. Imagine the look on a sheik’s face when his Tesla runs out of juice in the middle of the desert. 'Excuse me sir do you have any jumper cables?'
China's Already There! Ouch.
Tesla ain’t exactly first to the party. BYD that Chinese EV giant is already cruising around Saudi Arabia. And Lucid's setting up shop right there. So Tesla's walking into a dogfight! Experts are saying they might move 10 15k cars in the first two years. After that? It’s gonna be a street brawl especially when the locals start pumping out their own electric rides. It’s like trying to sell ice to Eskimos but the Eskimos already have a better ice maker. 'It will be a hard start' she says. You can say that again.
Where's the Juice?!
The biggest problem? Charging stations. Imagine driving a Tesla in a country where gas is cheaper than water and the only place to plug in is… well nowhere. The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company plans to build 5,000 chargers by 2030. That’s like promising to build a swimming pool after the apocalypse. Sure people might want Teslas but they also want to you know *drive* them. Remember that time K drove his spaceship through Times Square with no fuel yeah that was a mess.
Gotta Want It!
But hey there's a sliver of hope. According to some survey over 40% of Saudis are eyeballing EVs in the next three years. Someone even said 'not available makes it desirable.' True dat. Humans always want what they can’t have. Like a decent cup of coffee in space. Bottom line? Tesla’s rolling the dice in Saudi Arabia. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride but if they can pull it off they might just change the game. And if not? Well at least they’ll have some really expensive paperweights. Now if you’ll excuse me I gotta go file this report. Maybe grab some squid for lunch.

Tesla in the desert? Sounds like a recipe for a sand-filled disaster!
