Boy Did I Need a Change of Scenery!
Hmph. Another day another realm plagued by the follies of men. Rhee Chang Yong Governor of the Bank of Korea speaks of 'trade tensions' and 'downside risks.' I know a thing or two about tension. Ask the gods of Olympus! It seems this…Trump his tariffs are causing ripples even here. Like the wake of the Leviathan after I chuck it at some ice troll. "It's bad for everybody," he says. A profound statement indeed. One could say the same about Zeus's parenting skills.
Those Damn Tariffs!
This Rhee… he laments the effects on South Korea. Affected directly by these 'U.S. tariffs,' and indirectly through Vietnam Mexico even Canada! Sounds like a well placed strike by the Draugr. Hmph. Such is the price of… what was it Boy calls it? Globalization? These mortals and their intricate webs of commerce… they are as fragile as Atreus's temper.
GDP What Is It Good For? Absolutely Nothin'!
GDP shrinks. Another fancy word for 'things are not going well.' A contraction of 0.1%. Barely a scratch. I’ve seen worse after a friendly spar with Baldur. But these mortals they fret over such trifles. Meanwhile these South Koreans are heading to America for 'trade talks.' May the gods have mercy on their souls. Dealing with mortals and their politics is more torturous than Tartarus itself.
Politics Bah!
Political instability! Impeachment trials! Yoon Suk Yeol and Han Duck soo... Names that mean nothing to me. Unless they stand between me and my goal then I will not hesitate to destroy them. Apparently this caused trouble in the first quarter. But Rhee hopes the uncertainty will be behind them after their election. As if a change in leadership will solve all problems. Foolish mortals always hopeful when the new tyrant comes in... they know not of the dangers that lurk.
Rate Hikes and Dark Tunnels
The Bank of Korea held its rate steady. 'Cautious about exchange rate volatility,' they say. So much for decisive action. More like deer caught in the headlights of a speeding chariot. Rhee then compares their situation to entering a 'dark tunnel.' Hmph. I know a few dark tunnels and they usually end with a monster a puzzle or a chest full of… well not gold. More often just disappointment. He will proceed with caution... as I would enter Helheim.
Boy! What Did We Learn?
So the mortals bicker over tariffs and rates and GDPs. They stumble through their dark tunnels hoping for the light. And I Kratos watch on weary of their squabbles. Perhaps one day they will learn that true strength comes not from gold or politics but from within. Now Atreus fetch me my axe. We have training to do. And maybe this time try not to miss the target. And keep that damn mouth shut!
