By Hera What a Week!
Greetings mortals! Your friendly neighborhood Wonder Woman here reporting live from the front lines of… the stock market? Yes even I Princess Diana of Themyscira have been keeping an eye on your Earthly economy. And let me tell you it's been more chaotic than a Gorgon's tea party! Apparently some of you were experiencing a 'rough patch' with your tech stocks. As if Ares himself decided to short the market! I thought to myself 'Great Hera do they need my lasso of truth to get things in order?'
Trump's Tariffs: Ares' New Weapon?
It seems your former President Trump decided to play Zeus and throw some lightning bolts in the form of tariffs! These tariffs have been causing more turbulence than my invisible jet flying through a flock of harpies. The Nasdaq Composite had its worst week in five years and the Magnificent Seven – sounds like a gang of Amazonian warriors doesn't it? – lost a staggering $1.8 trillion! That's enough gold to make even Croesus blush!
Nvidia and Tesla to the Rescue!
But fear not mortals! Like a phoenix rising from the ashes some tech stocks decided to fight back. Nvidia and Tesla leading the charge like two Amazonians on a warpath both rallied about 5%. It’s good to see some companies showing the courage of Antiope! Meta Amazon Apple Microsoft and Alphabet joined the fray rising about 2%. It’s a start but they need to channel their inner Hippolyta and really take charge.
Semiconductors: Caught in the Crossfire
Even the semiconductor stocks those little chips that make your gadgets go bing boing and beep got in on the action. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF jumped more than 3%. These companies were excluded from the tariffs but have come under pressure on worries that higher duties could diminish demand for products and slow the economy. The invisible Lasso of Truth reveals that they are expected to see tariffs further down the road.
Broadcom and Marvell Make Deals Not War
While some companies were busy battling market forces others decided to make deals. Broadcom announced a $10 billion share buyback plan and Marvell Technology sold its auto ethernet business for $2.5 billion. Sometimes even in the heat of battle diplomacy and strategy are key. As my mother always says 'Sometimes the best way to win a war is to avoid it altogether.' Unless Ares is involved then all bets are off!
Wisdom from Themyscira
So what's the takeaway dear mortals? The stock market can be as unpredictable as a god's mood swing. Stay informed be prepared for anything and remember the words of my ancestor 'Only love can truly save the world.' Okay maybe that doesn't directly apply to the stock market but you get the idea. Stay calm don't panic and maybe invest in some Amazonian armor. You never know when you'll need it. Until next time keep fighting for truth justice and a balanced portfolio! Wonder Woman out!

Is it just me, or is the stock market more volatile than ever?

I'm starting to think Trump is one of Ares's minions.
