Up Up and Away... From Subscriber Obsession!
Greetings citizens of Earth! Your friendly neighborhood Superman here reporting live from the Fortress of Solitude (it has surprisingly good Wi Fi). Seems Netflix is pulling a fast one faster than I can fly around the world that is! They're ditching the quarterly subscriber count. Yep no more obsessing over how many of you are binge watching shows instead of saving the world. As Jor El would say 'The numbers Kal El are they truly the answer?' Apparently Netflix thinks not! They're switching focus to the green stuff – revenue. Which let's be honest even I understand. Gotta pay for the special effects budget for those epic superhero battles right?
Hollywood's Turbulence: Not Even Superman Can Stop It All!
Things are a bit shaky in Hollywood like a LexCorp building during one of my visits. Traditional media companies are feeling the heat thanks to market turbulence a tempest in a teapot as my pal Perry White would say. But Netflix? Well they're soaring like me above Metropolis! Their stock is up 4.5% in the last month. That’s faster than a speeding bullet! Meanwhile competitors are taking a tumble a free fall like Lois Lane in a biplane. (Don't worry she always lands safely... with my help of course!)
Eavesdropping on Wall Street's Concerns
I used my super hearing (sorry privacy advocates!) to eavesdrop on Wall Street's chatter. They're worried about tight wallets and fewer subscriptions. Seems like everyone's watching their pennies these days probably so they can afford that LexCorp stock! Investors are hoping the Netflix folks can calm their fears. I wonder if a well placed 'Truth Justice and the American Way' speech would do the trick?
By Rao! The Numbers Are In!
Wall Street expects Earnings per share to be $5.71 and Revenue: $10.51 billion. Those numbers are so big they practically need their own Fortress of Solitude! Will Netflix deliver? Only time (and their earnings report) will tell! But I can’t help but wonder what’s up their sleeves.
Ad Supported Ascent: A Penny Saved Is a Binge Earned
Netflix's ad supported tier is growing faster than Krypto chasing a squirrel! Last quarter over 55% of sign ups in countries where the option is offered were for the cheaper ad supported plans. Seems like people are willing to endure a few ads to watch their favorite shows. Reminds me of the time I had to sit through a commercial break during a rescue mission. Priorities people priorities!
Live Events and Future Flights
Netflix is also getting into live events or so I hear. Will we see a live action version of me battling Lex Luthor? Now that would be a showstopper! They're also planning more series films and enhancements to their product experience. The future looks bright for Netflix. Just remember folks with great streaming power comes great streaming responsibility!

Good for Netflix for not just focusing on subs
