A Grave Day Indeed!

My dearest readers it appears the world outside Hogwarts continues to offer challenges far more dangerous than a rogue Bludger. News has reached even my secluded study that former President Trump addressed the nation and not alas to announce a new brand of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. It seems the United States with a swish and flick of military might has targeted nuclear sites in Iran. One hopes of course that the Muggle world's approach is more considered than Gilderoy Lockhart facing a Cornish pixie. A sobering thought indeed.

Missouri to the Pacific: A Very Long Journey!

I am told that U.S. Air Force B 2 stealth bombers like invisible cloaks of the sky departed from Missouri. Headed where you ask? Towards the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Apparently these aircraft are capable of carrying what Muggles call the 'GBU 57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator,' or as some might say a rather large and unpleasant surprise. One can only hope that such power is wielded with the wisdom and restraint that Dumbledore always tried to instill and not with the impulsive nature of say a certain headstrong Gryffindor. After all it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies but just as much to stand up to our friends.

A Conflict Brews More Bitter Than Veritaserum!

This attack it is said puts the U.S. in direct armed conflict with Iran joining forces with Israel in an effort to cripple Tehran's nuclear program and topple its regime. Ah yes the tangled web of international relations! One is reminded of the Triwizard Tournament; a seemingly friendly competition that concealed far greater dangers. It's a complex situation fraught with peril much like trying to explain the offside rule in Quidditch to Argus Filch. May wisdom prevail where power threatens.

The Inevitable 'Subscribe' Spell

And as if by magic we are encouraged to 'Subscribe to CNBC on YouTube.' I confess my understanding of these Muggle technologies is limited. Is 'YouTube' some sort of Pensieve filled with moving images? Or perhaps a particularly noisy cauldron? Regardless I shall stick to my copies of 'Hogwarts: A History,' thank you very much. Still knowledge is power and one should always be informed even if the information arrives via enchanted moving pictures.

A Time for Reflection (and Lemon Drops)

As I sit here surrounded by portraits of former headmasters and a rather large stack of unopened Chocolate Frog cards I find myself contemplating the nature of power and its seductive allure. Remember always my friends that 'it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.' Let us hope that those in positions of power act not out of fear or ambition but with the best interests of all at heart. For as I've often said 'it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies but just as much to stand up to our friends.'

Words Are In My Not So Humble Opinion Our Most Inexhaustible Source of Magic

In times of conflict as the world descends into further disarray it is important to remember what unites us as people. Let us seek to understand each other and not to hate. As I have often iterated happy is he who does not dwell on dreams and forgets to live. Let us all step into the world and live but not only live but live well.
