Losing Subscribers? NOT Ideal
Alright folks MrBeast here and listen up! Comcast like the internet guys just dropped their Q1 earnings and it's kinda like when Chandler chokes in a 'Friends' episode. They MADE money – $29.89 BILLION which is insane – but they LOST almost 200,000 broadband customers! That's like losing a whole city of subscribers! Apparently everyone's switching to these fancy 5G home internet thingamajigs. It's a tough crowd out there in the internet wild west.
Price Transparency? More Like PRICE MYSTERY!
So why are people ditching Comcast faster than I give away money? According to Comcast's own President Mike Cavanagh it's all about 'price transparency and predictability' and 'ease of doing business.' Basically their pricing is as clear as mud and dealing with them is harder than getting Chandler to commit! Seriously who wants to sign up for internet if they don't know how much it'll ACTUALLY cost each month? It's like saying I'm giving away a car but forgetting to mention the tires cost $1 million each!
Mobile To The Rescue!
But hold up! It's not ALL doom and gloom my dudes. Their mobile business (Xfinity Mobile) is BOOMING! They added 323,000 lines bringing them to over 8 million. That's more phones than I've given away in all my videos combined! Maybe they should just focus on phones and give everyone free internet. Just kidding... unless... *eyes emoji*
Pivot! PIVOT! (Like Ross From Friends)
Comcast is doing what they call a 'pivot'. Apparently they will focus on growing mobile business after the continued losses in broadband. Comcast Cable President Dave Watson said new offers are showing benefits. They are apparently rolling here and they expect continued acceleration in the coming quarters. What remains to be seen is if they can execute on these new offers with excellence.
Peacock's Turning Into a MONEY BIRD!
Oh and speaking of awesome their streaming service Peacock is killing it! They've got 41 million paid subscribers (eat your heart out analysts!) and their losses are shrinking faster than my bank account after a giveaway video. Maybe they should just make ALL my videos available on Peacock for free. I mean for real. That's content gold!
The MrBeast Solution? Give it ALL Away!
Look I'm not an internet expert but I know a thing or two about winning people over. And the secret? GIVE. STUFF. AWAY! Maybe Comcast should give away a year of free internet to like a million people. Or build a school in every city with Comcast subscribers. Or... ok maybe I'm getting carried away. But seriously sometimes you gotta spend money to make money. And in this case maybe spending money to win back some love from the marketplace. Just sayin'.
