A Wop! A Wop! The Numbers Are Down!

It's a me Mario! And I've a got some news that's a less than super you know? Seems like things in China are a bit... *thwomp*...down. The manufacturing activity it's a like when I miss a jump – not good! The numbers are lower than a Goomba's intelligence! Apparently this 'trade war' with the U.S. is making things spicier than a Fire Flower in the middle of summer. Whoa!

Missed Expectations? That's a No No!

These experts the analysts they thought things would be bad but not *this* bad! They were expecting a 49.8 but the actual number was 49.0! That's like missing the flagpole at the end of the level – you're close but no cigar! This means China is making less stuff which is like me running out of mushrooms uh oh!

Trump's Tariffs: More Like Thwomps!

So it seems this 'Trump' guy has been putting tariffs on Chinese goods like he's throwing Thwomps at them! Big tariffs – some as high as 245%! That's a more than even Bowser charges for his castle tours! China is a not happy and they've a put tariffs on U.S. goods too. It's a like a Koopa shell bouncing back and forth nobody wins!

Uh Oh! Trouble in Trade Land!

All this tariff talk is causing trouble. Less ships are sailing between China and the U.S. like when I get stuck in a pipe with no exit! It's a messing with the flow of things and even I know that's bad. Remember what Luigi says: "When the going gets tough the tough get going!" But this time it's a tough for everyone!

A Little Help from My Friends...and Exemptions!

But a wait! There might be a glimmer of hope. China is a giving some breaks on tariffs for things like medicine and tech. And this 'Trump' guy exempted foreign cars from tariffs. It's like a finding a hidden 1 Up mushroom! But some experts still think that a lot of China's economy will be hit hard. We are talking about job losses! Let's hope China pulls through. Wahoo!

Stimulus Time? Maybe We Need Some Super Stars!

So what’s a next? Well China is a planning to help businesses and workers affected by all this. They're thinking of using money to boost the economy like a Super Star to make everything better! They still want to grow by 5% and they say they're confident. Hopefully this a all works out. Maybe I should a go help them. It’s a me Mario!
