Austin Here We Come! (But Hold Up Is This a Prank?)

Alright y'all gather 'round! Word on the street is Elon Musk that dude who's always got somethin' cookin' up is about to unleash Tesla robotaxis on Austin Texas. By the end of June no less! Now I've heard promises before some turned out like Hilary trying to dance. Remember when Uncle Phil swore he was gonna lose weight and rock a speedo at the beach? Yeah didn't happen. But Musk is saying these self driving whips are gonna be tearin' up the streets makin' moves like Jazz at a ladies' night. He's even planning on bringin' 'em to L.A. and San Fran. Talk about coast to coastin'!

Ten Cars and a Dream (Sounds Like My First Valentine's Day)

So here's the dealio: Tesla's startin' with a fleet of about ten vehicles in Austin. Ten! That's less than the number of ties Uncle Phil owns! But if things go smoother than my pick up lines they're gonna ramp it up to thousands. Thousands y'all! That's like enough robotaxis to give even Carlton a reason to break out his signature dance. Remember Musk been talkin' 'bout this since 2016. That's longer than I've been able to keep my Jordans clean. But yo he's still at it promising a self driving future where we can all just chill and let the car do the work. Hopefully this don't end up like one of Jazz's schemes.

No Hands on the Wheel? (Just Good Vibes?)

Now before you start picturing yourself sippin' lemonade in the back seat while the car drives itself there's a catch. Tesla doesn't have a car that's safe enough to roll solo yet. They're starting small testing the waters making sure everything's tighter than Carlton's sweater vests. These robotaxis are gonna be Model Y's with some fancy new software called FSD Unsupervised. FSD? Sounds like a new dance craze to me! But hey Alphabet's Waymo is already doin' this thing rackin' up 250,000 paid trips a week. Maybe Tesla's just tryna catch up to the game.

Geofencing? Sounds Like a Fancy Dog Park!

Musk says they're gonna "geofence" these robotaxis in Austin. That means they're gonna limit where these Model Y's can drive. Like putting boundaries on where Hilary is allowed to go shopping. No safety driver in the cars though! Just Tesla employees watching remotely. Like a digital babysitter makin' sure these robotaxis don't end up parked in the middle of a rodeo or somethin'. Musk claims Tesla's got a more ambitious plan than Waymo. He's all about cameras and computer vision while Waymo's rockin' fancy sensors. Each to their own I guess. As long as nobody gets lost on the way to In N Out!

Politics and Profits? (Sounds Like Thanksgiving Dinner!)

Now it ain't all sunshine and roses. Faber was grillin' Musk about the backlash Tesla's been gettin' because of his involvement with President Trump. Sales went down factories were retooling. Musk blamed it on getting ready to build a new version of the Model Y. He even started some thing called the "Department of Government Efficiency," or DOGE to slash and burn government agencies. Sounds intense even for Uncle Phil. But Musk is staying at the helm of Tesla SpaceX and xAI plus advising President Trump. This dude's got more on his plate than Geoffrey at Thanksgiving!

Five More Years? (Can't Wait To See What's Next!)

Despite all the drama Musk says he's committed to leading Tesla for the next five years. Five years! That's longer than I stayed out of trouble when I first moved to Bel Air. He's got a net worth that'd make even Uncle Phil jealous. So get ready y'all. Robotaxis are comin' and they're comin' to a city near you. Let's just hope they play better music than Carlton's elevator tunes!

They need to add a 'Carlton Dance' emergency brake feature.
