Up Up and...On Sale?

Greetings mortals! Wonder Woman here reporting live from the invisible jet (it's fuel efficient you know good for the planet). It seems our friends in the airline industry are having a bit of a...kerfuffle. Millions are expected to fly for your July 4th celebrations but the rest of the year? Well let's just say it's murkier than Ares's schemes. Southwest's CEO even admitted the 'summer is on sale.' Translation: fares are dropping faster than I can disarm a Doomsday device! But don't fret a bargain flight is always a welcome treat much like a Themysciran feast after a long day battling evil.

Inflation's Kryptonite?

Apparently domestic airfare is averaging a mere $265 for a round trip flight. That's the cheapest it's been since 2021! Even inflation that pesky economic villain has taken a hit. Airfare is down more than 7% from last year. Seems like even villains have off days! I am wondering if I have ever given Ares an off day… hmm…

Tariffs and Turbulence: A Flight Delay of Doom?

But hold on to your Lasso of Truth folks! Airlines like Southwest Delta American and Alaska have all pulled their 2025 forecasts. Why? Uncertainty! The on again off again tariffs are to blame. And fewer overseas visitors? Honestly I think more people should visit the United States. We have great coffee even if it isn’t as good as what they brew on Themyscira!

Delta's Earnings: A Glimmer of Hope or More Gloom?

Delta Airlines is kicking off earnings reports next week. All eyes are on them to see if there are any 'green shoots' in demand. Last I checked green shoots are usually found in gardens not airline balance sheets. But hey I’m always hoping for the best. After all as my mother Queen Hippolyta always says 'Hope is the most powerful weapon of all.' And she knows her weapons!

Capacity Cuts: Pruning the Unprofitable?

In response airlines are planning to cut unprofitable flights. This includes those pesky off peak days when even I'd rather relax on Themyscira than fly across the country. Airlines make most of their money in the second and third quarters so they’re hoping these cuts will help them stay afloat. But really don’t worry I will always be here to rescue you if your plane loses its trajectory; I have been doing this for 1000s of years… literally.

International Rescue: A Silver Lining?

Now here's a bit of good news! International trips from the U.S. have been strong. Even fares for these trips are easing up which is a boon for those of you yearning to visit far off lands. Flights to Europe are averaging $817 down almost $100 from last year. Asia is even cheaper! So pack your bags mortals and explore the world! Just remember to be kind to each other and maybe bring me back a souvenir. You know something sparkly.
