The founders of PillPack, after their stint with the Empire (Amazon), are back with General Medicine, an online healthcare marketplace aiming to make getting medical care as easy as ordering a spotchka. Let's see if they can stick the landing...or if this is another disintegration.

PillPack Alumni Strike Back

Alright Mando journal time. Heard some whispers in the cantina about these fellas Parker and Cohen who used to run PillPack. Sold it off to Amazon the big beskar hoarding conglomerate seven years back. Now they're back with something called General Medicine. Seems like they're trying to fix that whole mess we call 'healthcare'. If I had a credit for every time I got lost in a medical droid's diagnostic menu...well I'd have a lot of credits. This is the way they say to get medical care 'as easy as shopping online.' We'll see about that. I've had easier times wrangling a Tooka cat.

Shadows and Symptoms: A New Hope?

They've got this other character Muralidharan used to be some kind of tech advisor for Amazon's top brass. A 'shadow,' they called him. Sounds ominous. Anyway General Medicine is supposed to be this online marketplace where you can find a healer based on what's ailing you. Or just chat with someone about your symptoms. Good because I'm constantly battling the symptoms of being frozen in carbonite one too many times. Securing prescriptions locating specialists…sounds like a fetch quest but if it saves me a trip to a shady back alley medic on Nar Shaddaa I'm in.

Credits and Insurance: May the Force (and Your Wallet) Be With You

Of course the real question is…credits. They take cash or insurance apparently. Most major providers. Let's hope they take Imperial credits too; I have a few stashed away from some…*ahem*…previous engagements. They’ve got their own medical droids – I mean medical groups – and some local healers and clinics. Sounds promising but I still have flashbacks of the time I tried to use my health insurance on Sorgan. Those farmers looked at me like I was speaking Huttese.

Exit Stage Left (Amazon): I Have Spoken

Parker and Cohen bounced from Amazon in '22 a few years after the deal went down. General Medicine started cooking in '23 and they're already seeing patients. Bold move. They say they want to fix the 'terrible experience of American healthcare.' Bless their hearts. Sounds like a mission for a Mandalorian if you ask me. Except I'm usually dealing with Womp rats not medical bills.

The Amazonian Gambit: A History Lesson

Amazon that hungry Sarlacc Pit has been trying to shake up healthcare for a while now. “Customer obsessed,” they say. Quick deliveries. Yeah well try delivering a new liver in under 30 minutes. They've had some wins some losses. Amazon Pharmacy came out of that PillPack deal. And they bought that One Medical place. Brick and mortar AND online? Greedy. Seems like Amazon is trying to dominate another galaxy maybe they should leave ours alone! This is the way to stay out of other people's business.

Foldable Phones? I'd rather a Foldable Beskar

And apparently Amazon is messing around with foldable phones? What am I supposed to do with that? Check my bounties and track Grogu at the same time? I'd rather a foldable beskar helmet. One that can deflect both blaster bolts and the soul crushing weight of modern healthcare. This is the way.
