The Family's Hurting
Let me tell you something family. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce they're not usually hitting me up. But they're worried. They're seeing small businesses the backbone of this country getting squeezed harder than Brian trying to parallel park my Charger after a Corona or six. They're talking about a recession and that ain't just a word – it's a threat to our way of life to our family.
Tariffs: The Enemy at the Gate
See these tariffs they're like Hector Salamanca at the starting line – they look tough but they're messing with the wrong crowd. The Chamber's CEO Suzanne Clark she sent a letter straight to the top asking the Trump administration to let small businesses off the hook. Automatic exclusions she called them. Smart. You can't produce it here? No tariff. Simple. That's how you protect family one business at a time.
Dom's Rules of Economics
Rule number one: you protect your own. Rule number two: when someone messes with your family you hit back harder. The Chamber knows this. They're asking for a way for businesses to prove these tariffs are causing real damage job losses and all that. If they can prove it boom exclusion. Like NOS on a quarter mile when you need it most.
White House Speedbumps
But here's the kicker. This Steven Miller guy from the White House? He's talking about tax cuts instead. Tax cuts are fine but they're like chrome on a street racer – look good but don't always give you the edge you need. He basically said "Nah tariffs are cool just make stuff here!" Easy to say when you are not dealing with it yourself. Doesn't sound like he is taking family first.
Fuel Injection vs. Carburetors
Look I ain't no economist but I know a thing or two about engines. Tax cuts are like carburetors – they've been around a while they can work but they ain't always the most efficient. Tariff exclusions are like fuel injection – precise targeted and they get the job done right now. We need both but right now fuel injection is what's gonna get us across the finish line.
The Last Ride (for Some Businesses)
These small businesses they're not just businesses they're families. They're the guys who fix your ride after a street race they're the ones who keep the lights on. If we don't help them now many won't make it. And that my friends is something I just can't live with. Family first always. Now let's see if the White House understands that before it's too late. We need to find some common ground otherwise we will have to do things the Torreto way.
