A Right Mess in the Drink!

Well blow me down! Yours Truly Captain Jack Sparrow brings ye news that's gone and taken a turn for the worse. Seems a contraption – a whirlybird they call it a helicopter – has decided to take an unscheduled dip in the Hudson River right off Manhattan's coast. Why is the rum always gone?! Ah right because it's at the bottom of the river now probably next to that blasted helicopter.

Dead Men Tell No Tales (But the News Does)

Now the constables – the NYPD if you must know – are saying there are "multiple fatalities." A grim turn of events indeed. Makes you think about the fragility of life doesn't it? One minute you're soaring through the air the next you're chum for the sharks. Though thankfully I don’t think there are sharks in the Hudson are there? One hopes not for their sakes. Four souls were plucked from the watery depths and sent to the healers.

The Upside Down Truth

A picture they say is worth a thousand words. And the pictures floating about on those newfangled social media contraptions show this helicopter belly up in the drink. Like a drunken sailor after a night at Tortuga. I've been there and I can tell you it's not a pretty sight. Not for the sailor and certainly not for a helicopter.

Traffic Jams and Emergency Jalopies!

The constables in their infinite wisdom have warned of traffic delays and emergency vehicles cluttering the roads. As if there wasn't enough chaos in this world already! The West Side Highway and Spring Street are apparently proper jammed up so avoid those areas savvy? Unless you fancy a bit of gridlock. Which I assure you is less entertaining than watching a monkey drive a car.

The Govenment Lads Take to the Stage

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have been called upon. Seems they're poking around the wreckage scribbling in notebooks and generally making a nuisance of themselves in the name of finding out what went wrong. But really it’s simple isn’t it? It went down and it shouldn’t have!

A Sightseeing Jaunt Gone Wrong?

This "Bell 206L 4 LongRanger," as the techy folk call it has been buzzing around like a gnat at a rum festival. Apparently it's been taking off and landing from that Downtown Manhattan Heliport quite a bit. Sightseeing tours they reckon. But what was it doing on this particular voyage? That's the question isn't it? And I Captain Jack Sparrow aim to find out. Now if you'll excuse me I have a river to scour and a mystery to solve! Why is the rum still gone?!
