Another One? Figma's Taking the Leap and I'm Watching
Alright alright hold up! I hear Figma that design software company is finally going public. They're gonna be trading under 'FIG' on the NYSE. Sounds like they're ready to 'Be Like Mike' and take on the big leagues. After that whole Adobe deal fell through – a cool $1 billion termination fee by the way – they're looking to make a statement. I know a thing or two about making statements. *laughs*
Numbers Don't Lie But They Can Be Misleading. Not These Though.
These guys aren't playing around. Revenue up 46%? Net income lookin' pretty pretty good? Sounds like someone's been putting in the work. More than a thousand customers dropping at least $100k a year? That's what I call a winning team. But as I always say 'Talent wins games but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.' Let's see if they can keep this momentum going.
From Brown U to Billions: Young Blood in the Game
Dylan Field and Evan Wallace huh? Young guns. Field he even took that Thiel Fellowship. Good for him! Always good to see young talent taking risks and betting on themselves. Remember you miss 100% of the shots you don't take and only you can define your success so I guess they didn't wanna look back 20 years from now and wonder. I hope they're ready for the pressure because once you're in the public eye everyone's got an opinion. Just like my fadeaway jumper everyone thinks they can do it but few can do it like MJ.
Big Swings and Even Bigger Acquisitions: Sounds Familiar
Field says they're gonna take 'big swings' and maybe even make some acquisitions? Now you're talkin'! Gotta stay hungry gotta stay aggressive. That's the only way to stay on top. This isn't a one man game the more talent you have around the more likely you can get over the hump. You've gotta learn to play with others. Just like back in my playing days I needed Pippen Rodman and Phil Jackson to get those rings.
Venture Capitalists Need a Win? I Know About Winning
So Silicon Valley VCs are lookin' for a win after a rough patch? Well everyone loves a comeback story right? But comebacks are only impressive after the game has been lost so lets not get ahead of ourselves. Index Ventures Greylock Kleiner Perkins Sequoia... these are the big boys. They're bettin' on Figma and they're hoping for a Michael Jordan level return on their investment. No pressure Figma but failure is never an option. *smirks*
Competition's a Beast: Better Be Ready to Tame It
Competition? Oh they're gonna face it. I know a thing or two about competition. You gotta want it more than the other guy. You gotta be willing to put in the work day in and day out. Figma better be ready to bring their A game because in this league there's no room for error. Otherwise better give your spot up. And remember folks 'Everybody has talent but ability takes practice.'
