Well look who's decided to stick his neck out! Seems even the wealthiest of us aren't immune to a little political Games are we? Elon Musk who I guess is the Gamemaker of electric cars or something is squawking about tariffs. Ironic considering he's usually busy launching things into the sky while the rest of us are just trying to survive another day in District 12 – er I mean *the economy*.

Tesla's on Fire... But Not in a Good Way

Apparently Tesla’s been having a rough go of it. Earnings down sales plummeting faster than Peeta after a tracker jacker attack. Musk says they’re doing okay because they've got supply chains all over the place unlike those other *District* car companies. But even he can't dodge the tariff train forever. Looks like the odds are not exactly in his favor are they?

Morons and Sacks of Bricks: A Trump Musk Love Story

Now here’s where things get interesting. Musk and President Trump? Thick as thieves... except when it comes to these tariffs. Apparently Musk called Trump's top trade guy Peter Navarro a "moron" and "dumber than a sack of bricks." Tell us how you really feel Elon! Even Haymitch Abernathy has more tact after a few bottles of firewhiskey...or whatever the rich folks are drinking these days.

The 'I Give Advice He Ignores It' Tango

Musk claims he gives Trump advice on tariffs but then the President does whatever he wants anyway. Sounds a bit like trying to tell President Snow that maybe poisoning children isn’t the best look for Panem! He says he believes in lower predictable tariffs. Yeah and I believe in a world without Hunger Games. We can all dream right?

Battery Blues: The China Connection

Turns out Tesla's energy business is getting hammered because they get their battery cells from China. Musk says they're trying to make their own here in the US. Trying to be self sufficient? Good for him. I know a thing or two about providing for yourself when nobody else will even if it means going against the Capitol...or in this case high tariffs.

Not Growing Rubber Trees Yet!

So Tesla is “vertically integrated,” whatever that means but they still need stuff from other countries. Musk joked that they're not growing rubber trees or mining iron yet. Well Mr. Musk some of us ARE out there risking our lives every day to provide for our families. Rubber trees sound like a walk in the park compared to being a Tribute! Maybe he should try volunteering next time.
