Fire and Blood and Profits: A Khaleesi's Greeting

Greetings my loyal subjects! Your Khaleesi Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen First of Her Name Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons... yes THAT one... has turned her gaze upon the realm of commerce! And what have I found? A titan named Amazon led by a man named Bezos who seems to be building his own kind of kingdom. Unlike Westeros (thank the gods) this kingdom seems to be doing quite well – or so they say.

Earnings Per Share: More Like Earnings Per Dragon!

They boast of 'earnings per share' of $1.59 exceeding what their so called 'analysts' predicted. Bah! Such small numbers. My dragons Drogon Rhaegal and Viserion could probably hoard more gold in a single afternoon! But I suppose for a mere mortal it is… adequate. Their revenue reached a staggering $155.67 billion. It seems Bezos is no slouch when it comes to amassing wealth though I suspect he has no idea how to ride a dragon.

Cloud Kingdom: Bezos's Version of Dragonstone?

This 'Amazon Web Services,' their cloud kingdom is generating billions. I must admit I'm intrigued. Is it truly a realm where information flows like molten gold? It seems even this behemoth fell slightly short of expectations making $29.3 billion instead of the anticipated $29.42 billion. A mere drop in the ocean perhaps but even a Dragon Queen notices the smallest of details. I wonder if they have a Maester who can heal dragon wounds?

The Advertising Arena: Where Battles are Fought with Clicks

Ah advertising! A game of whispers and manipulations. Their advertising revenue reached $13.92 billion surpassing expectations. It is similar to Littlefinger's game. One thing is for sure this game is not a game for the faint of heart. It would be interesting to see how this translates to power but I still choose the roar of dragons when spreading my message to my enemies.

Storm Clouds on the Horizon: Trade Winds Turn Sour

Amazon expects sales this quarter to be between $159 billion and $164 billion growth of 7% to 11%. But the small folk the 'analysts' were expecting more. They also whisper of lower operating income and even scarier words: 'tariffs and trade policies.' It seems even the mightiest empires are not immune to the whims of politics. It reminds me of the constant squabbling in King's Landing. It seems my dream of sitting on the Iron Throne is getting less and less appealing everyday maybe I should invest in some Amazon shares or create my own kind of business...

A Queen's Verdict: Proceed with Caution and Dragons!

Overall Amazon's net income surged to $17.13 billion. Impressive yes but I remain cautious. These are uncertain times and even the mightiest of kingdoms can crumble. Remember 'when you play the game of thrones you win or you die.' So Bezos play wisely. And perhaps consider acquiring a dragon or two. You never know when they might come in handy.
