Walmart's Got the Blues (and Higher Prices!)

It's a me Mario and I've a got some bad news from the Mushroom Kingdom…or well from Walmart! Seems a like even the biggest discount store in the world is gonna be raising prices. Mamma Mia! CFO John David Rainey says it's because of those pesky tariffs. They're a trying their best but he says this is “a little bit unprecedented.” Unprecedented? That's a saying something coming from a guy dealing with... a store! Looks like it's not just Bowser causing trouble these days!

Here We Go Again: When and What Will Cost Ya!

So when's a this price a hike gonna hit? Rainey says we'll see the start of it in May and more in June. Sounds like those Super Mushrooms are gonna be cheaper and... everything else is gonna be more expensive! Walmart even gave a some clues! Bananas avocados coffee and even roses my favorite! Guess a even Princess Peach is gonna have to start buying her roses at a discount store... oh wait!

Blame It On the Bad Guys: China and More!

Seems like they're a blaming those tariffs on goods from China Mexico Vietnam India and Canada. CEO Doug McMillon mentioned tariffs on places like Costa Rica Peru and Colombia too. Looks like the whole world is causing Walmart's troubles! It's a like Bowser teamed up with King Boo and Wario to raise prices everywhere!

They're Trying Their Best (But Your Wallet's Still Gonna Hurt!)

Walmart's a trying to dodge these price hikes by switching materials and finding new places to get their stuff. One supplier switched from using aluminum to fiberglass! Now that's a ingenuity! Rainey also mentioned they're cutting the size of some orders on items. It's a like trying to stomp on a Goomba while dodging a Koopa Troopa! All those tactics can't avoid the rising prices so your pockets might be feeling lighter than ever.

Maybe the Price Hike Will Be a Good Thing?

Believe it or not Walmart thinks this whole tariff thing might help them in the long run! They're a betting that folks will come to Walmart because they offer the best value. It's a like turning a lemon into lemonade or a Bowser attack into a chance to grab some extra coins! Who knew tariffs could be a good for something?

Well there you have it! Walmart prices are a going up! I guess it's time to save those coins and find some hidden blocks!
