Faster Than a Speeding Bullet...of Bad News!

Greetings citizens of Earth! It's your friendly neighborhood Superman here reporting not from the skies but from the ground where things have taken a decidedly un super turn. Seems a dark cloud has settled over Minnesota. Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark have been tragically shot and killed. Initial reports suggest a 'politically motivated assassination,' a phrase that chills even a Kryptonian's bones. As my Earth Mom used to say 'Lana some folks just can't abide progress!' And it seems she was right.

More Than Meets the Eye...And Less Than Meets Justice!

But that's not all folks. Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were also victims in this dastardly act each struck multiple times. They're still fighting and Governor Walz bless his heart is 'cautiously optimistic.' Hope is a powerful thing folks. It's like sunshine after a Kryptonite shower. Now this all happened in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis about eight miles separating the lawmakers' homes. Makes you wonder doesn't it? It’s enough to make a guy start believing in Lex Luthor’s conspiracies. But seriously folks this is beyond the pale.

A Disguise More Nefarious Than Lex's Bald Cap!

The authorities are on the hunt for a suspect who was impersonating a police officer. Yes you heard that right. Imagine using the very symbol of safety and justice as a mask for malice! It's like Brainiac trying to pass himself off as a Mensa member. Officials are tracking a vehicle with lights and sirens and get this they found a 'manifesto' naming other lawmakers. A manifesto! I haven’t seen something that theatrical since Zod tried to conquer Earth!

Even Politicians Are Saying "This Is Wrong!"

President Trump has been 'briefed' and promises prosecution 'to the fullest extent of the law.' Attorney General Bondi says the FBI is on the case working with state and local law enforcement. 'This horrific violence will not be tolerated,' they both declare. Well I should hope not! Tolerance is for building bridges not for letting villains run amok. Even Lex Luthor would agree that this is too much…probably. Okay maybe not Lex.

Truth Justice and...the American Way to Solve This?

So what does this all mean? It means that even in a world of super powers and incredible feats the most important thing is still the simple pursuit of justice. We need to find these criminals bring them to justice and send a message that violence has no place in our society. As my pa Kent used to say 'Son doing what’s right ain’t always easy but it’s always right.'
