Freedom is the Right of All Sentient Beings... Except Protesters?
Greetings humans. Optimus Prime here reporting from the front lines of... well news. It seems your leader President Trump is planning a grand parade. A "celebration big," as he calls it. But here's where things get a little... Decepticon y. He's issued a warning: any protesters will be met with "very heavy force." Heavy force? That sounds less like a celebration and more like a showdown at the OK Corral Cybertron style.
Till All Are One... Unless You Disagree?
Now I believe in freedom. It's the right of all sentient beings! But this "heavy force" business? It's a bit... authoritarian. I understand the need for order but isn't a parade supposed to be a display of unity not a demonstration of dominance? As my old friend Ironhide used to say "High tech circuitry ain't worth a damn if you ain't got the guts to use it right." And I'm not sure this is using it right.
Autobots Transform and Roll Out... the Budget?
Then there's the cost. Up to $45 million for a parade? That's enough energon to power Cybertron for a millennium! Senator Rand Paul raises a valid point: are we starting to look a bit too much like… well other countries with a penchant for military displays? We are proud not to be that. I do not feel that. We must ask is this truly the best use of resources?
Deploys and Deployments: Same Difference?
And let's not forget the deployment of National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles in response to immigration protests. Another $134 million? I tell you what this is highway robbery! I thought we are here to bring peace but from where I am standing it seems we are making anything but peace.
One Shall Stand One Shall Fall... From Approval Ratings?
Governor Newsom and others are not happy and they're taking legal action. And rightly so! There’s a fine line between maintaining order and suppressing dissent. It’s a line that I fear is being blurred faster than Bumblebee dodging laser fire. Remember folks "There's a thin line between being a hero and being a memory."
Autobots Protect... Our Freedoms (and Wallets)!
So what's the takeaway? Freedom is a precious thing and it should be defended not threatened. A parade can be a symbol of strength but it shouldn't come at the cost of our principles or our wallets. As always stay vigilant Autobots and remember: "Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing." But when it does let's hope we choose wisely. Optimus Prime signing off.
