A Man Walks Into a Chancellery...
Hark my loyal subjects! Your Khaleesi brings tidings from a land far far away... a land called Germany. It appears one Friedrich Merz a name that does not exactly strike fear into the hearts of men (or dragons) attempted to seize power. Not with fire and blood mind you but with… a parliamentary vote. Apparently those are things in this strange Westeros adjacent world. He sought the Chancellery their version of the Iron Throne but alas the votes were not in his favor. It seems even in this land power resides where men believe it resides. And today they didn't believe it resided with Friedrich.
Where Are My Dragons When I Need Them?
One cannot simply walk into the Chancellery it seems. Even *I* had to hatch three dragons and liberate countless slaves before even *thinking* about taking the Iron Throne. And yet this Merz fellow thought he could just… vote his way in? Perhaps he needs a little *dracarys* to spice things up. I am joking of course. Mostly. Though imagine the look on their faces if Drogon suddenly appeared in the Bundestag. Priceless! It would make things go faster and easier I would suppose...
Breaking the Wheel... Of German Politics?
This news while amusing to me the Mother of Dragons highlights a crucial point. Even in lands without dragons the game of thrones is ever present. The wheel keeps turning. All those who are in the wheel will be crushed I will stop the wheel. Whether it is Westeros or Deutschland the pursuit of power is a constant struggle. One must be strategic decisive and perhaps possess a fire breathing reptile or two.
A Queen's Assessment: He Needs a Better Campaign Manager
Let's be honest if Merz truly desired this… Chancellorship he needed a better campaign strategy. Did he consult with Tyrion? Did he hire Varys? Did he at least *try* to look slightly less… stuffy? A good haircut and the proper allies go a long way. My advisors would have had him riding a (very small harmless) dragon in no time. It plays well with the commoners you know. A little bit of fear a little bit of awe. Works every time… unless you are going against the Breaker of Chains of course.
The Breaking News: To Be Continued...
The report claims this 'breaking news' will be updated shortly. I Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen First of Her Name Queen of Meereen Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons will be following this closely. Perhaps this Merz will learn from his mistakes. Or perhaps another player will rise to challenge for the Chancellery. Only time and the political machinations of Germany will tell.
In The End The Mad King The Mother of Dragons Or This Merz... What is the Difference?
Power as I have learned is a dangerous game. It can corrupt even the noblest of intentions. This Merz if he ever does claim his Chancellery must remember that true strength lies not in the throne itself but in the way one rules. One must rule with justice compassion and a healthy respect for the fact that at any moment a dragon could appear and incinerate everything. Now that is all may peace be with you or maybe not only if you happen to be on my enemies list.

This is exactly why we need dragons in politics.

The Iron Throne is much more comfortable than the Chancellery, I'm sure.
