Greetings Earthlings! Carol Danvers here your friendly neighborhood Captain Marvel reporting live from… well Earth unfortunately. Turns out even with all my cosmic adventures Earthly politics can still drag me back in. Twelve states have decided to throw down the gauntlet suing President Trump over his new tariffs on foreign imports. Apparently they believe he's pulling a Thanos and overstepping his power. You know just like Ronan did. Honestly sometimes I think humans cause more problems than the Kree.

A Taxing Situation!

New York Attorney General Letitia James is leading the charge stating that Trump is essentially raising taxes on a whim. And as we all know even the Supreme Intelligence believes in fair taxation! The lawsuit is being filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade arguing that Trump's actions violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). Apparently no other president has used this act to impose tariffs and they're saying Trump is abusing his power by declaring a 'national emergency' to justify them. Sounds a bit like when the Skrulls tried to infiltrate Earth by posing as refugees; a lot of misplaced paranoia if you ask me.

Small Businesses vs. The Big Guy!

But wait there's more! Before these states jumped into the fray five small businesses already launched a similar lawsuit against Trump. Talk about a David versus Goliath situation! It's like the time I took on the entire Kree fleet with just a photon blast. Okay maybe not *exactly* like that but you get the idea. Underdogs fighting for what's right!

State Side Scuffle!

Joining New York in this legal brawl are Arizona Colorado Connecticut Delaware Illinois Maine Minnesota New Mexico Oregon and Vermont. That's a lot of states! It reminds me of when the Avengers had that little disagreement during the Sokovia Accords... only this time hopefully no one gets sent to the Raft. The lawsuit argues that no president in the past five decades has imposed tariffs based on a 'national emergency,' despite you know actual global crises. It's like saying Goose is more dangerous than a Kree warship—utterly ridiculous!

Chaos Theory: Economic Edition!

The lawsuit gets right to the point: Trump's tariffs are unlawful and should be stopped. They claim he's overstepping his constitutional authority which assigns the power to tax to Congress not the President. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes called Trump's tariff scheme 'economically reckless' and 'illegal.' She's not wrong. It seems like everyone's feeling the burn from consumers in Arizona to… well probably everyone else. It seems that this tariff imposition is not endorsed by the 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes'!
