Rep. Mark Green bails on Washington, leaving Republicans scrambling like the Joker after a bad joke. Is this a win for Gotham, or just another headache?

The Bat Signal of Resignation

Another one bites the dust. Congressman Mark Green R Tennessee has decided to hang up his cape... or suit or whatever they wear in that circus they call Congress. Effective July 20th he's out. 'The trust you put in me is humbling,' he tweeted. Humbling? More like horrifying if you ask me. People actually *trusted* this guy? The world needs dramatic examples to shake it out of apathy and apparently this was it.

Speaker Johnson's House of Cards

This Green fellow's departure leaves Speaker Mike Johnson's Republican majority thinner than Two Face's chances of a date. They're down to 219 212. A majority so narrow it makes the Narrows look like the Grand Canyon. Remember Trump's 'big beautiful bill'? Well it just got uglier. Johnson's struggling to herd cats and now he's missing one. Gotham's criminals are more organized and that's saying something.

Enter the Private Sector: Green's New Bat Cave?

Green claims he's heading back to the private sector to battle the CCP. 'Something specifically designed to help America compete,' he cryptically stated. Sounds like a cover story to me. Maybe he's joining forces with the Penguin to corner the umbrella market. Or maybe he's just tired of all the Bat gadgets.

From Congress to… What Exactly?

Elected in 2018 Green filled the shoes of Sen. Marsha Blackburn. Now he's filling… something else. Like the GCPD Congress seems to be facing some turnover.. And what about that Waltz fellow? And Bacon? What next will all of Gotham flee to Bludhaven?

Omaha: A Crack in the Facade?

Speaking of Bacon his retirement has created an opportunity for the Democrats in Omaha. Maybe just maybe the people will pick someone who can actually help. Of course the Joker probably thinks he would be a better politician. Either way maybe that is what Gotham needs.

Is This Good For Gotham?

So is this a win? One less politician to worry about. One less variable in the equation of Gotham's fate. But remember what Alfred said: 'Some men aren't looking for anything logical like money. They can't be bought bullied reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.' Let's hope Green isn't one of those men.
