I Have Spoken: Oracle's Great Snafu

A Mando doesn't usually deal with… well anything that isn't a bounty or a disintegration. But when I heard about this mess with Oracle and those hospitals I had to say something. Turns out Oracle engineers went full 'I have spoken' and deleted critical storage during some maintenance. Boom! Five day outage at Community Health Systems. I have never done such blunder when accepting bounties. This is not the way!

Paper Records? Are We Back in the Stone Age?

Five days! Hospitals had to go back to writing things down on… *paper*? Like a bunch of Jawas scrawling on scrap metal! Apparently 45 hospitals got hit according to Becker's Hospital Review. Imagine trying to track down a bounty using only paper records. You'd be chasing shadows across the galaxy. No tracking fobs or anything; just like that time I was offered a side quest for scrap metal salvage in exchange for beskar!

No Cyberattack? Just Good Old Fashioned Bungling

CHS says it wasn't a cyberattack just a 'mistake.' Sure that's what they all say. Maybe someone dropped a thermal detonator near the server? Either way no material impact? I find that hard to believe. Try telling that to the patients waiting for their bacta treatments. I bet you they didn't find it quite a 'mistaake'. I was once told that the only way to deliver a message is by disintegration.

Oracle's EHR Troubles: A History of Unpleasantness

Oracle bought Cerner for a pile of credits – 28.3 billion to be exact. But now Oracle's facing this nationwide outage that is really not good. Apparently they've had issues with the Department of Veterans Affairs too. Patient safety concerns. Sounds like a bigger mess than the Sarlacc pit. I would have just said 'I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold.' Now this is more like 'I can bring you in alive or I can kill you.'

"Re Establish Full Functionality": Good Luck With That

Now Oracle's systems are back online CHS hospitals are trying to 're establish full functionality.' Good luck with that. I've seen droids try to fix hyperdrives with more success. I am not saying they are dumber than droids but I am not saying otherwise. This is the way.

I've Got a Bad Feeling About This Oracle

This whole situation is a reminder that even the biggest tech companies can make mistakes. But when those mistakes mess with people's health? That's a bounty worth taking seriously. I'm not saying Oracle needs to be disintegrated but maybe a stern talking to from a Mandalorian is in order. After all this is the way...

Paper records? Reminds me of the good old days, before droids stole our jobs.

I have spoken: Oracle needs to do better.
