It's a Me Mario With Some Brainy News!

Hello everybody! It's a me Mario! I've a traded my mushrooms for microchips today to bring you some super news from the world of science! You know how I'm always jumping into new adventures? Well some clever folks at a company called Precision Neuroscience are doing the same but they're jumping into… BRAINS! Mamma mia!

Precision's Got the Power Up!

These guys they're building a 'brain computer interface.' Sounds complicated eh? Basically it's a way to let computers understand what your brain is thinking. Think of it like this: instead of pressing buttons on my overalls I could just *think* about jumping! Wah hoo! And guess what? The FDA those serious guys in white coats just gave Precision a big 'OK' for one of their brain thingy parts! It's a called the Layer 7 Cortical Interface. Sounds like something from a Bowser's castle but it's for helping people!

Thinner Than My Mustache Hair!

This Layer 7 it's super thin like one of my mustache hairs! And it's covered in these tiny little sensors – over a thousand of them! They stick it on the brain (carefully of course!) and it can read what's going on in there. Apparently it's like a piece of yellow scotch tape. Now I know what you're thinking 'Mario what's a this gotta do with me?' Well imagine being able to help people who can't move or speak! It's a like giving them a Starman! They get their power back!

But Wait There's More! (Just Like Luigi Always Says)

Now other companies are jumping into this too! There's one from a guy named Elon Musk (no relation to the Musk I found in World 5!). And another from some friends of Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates! Seems like everyone wants a piece of this brain cake! Wahoo! The company wants to use the data to further develope the BCI systems that will work even better in the future!

Collecting Coins (…I Mean Data!)

With this FDA approval Precision can now use the Layer 7 for longer periods of time. They’ve already put it in 37 patients for short times but now they can get more data! Dr. Rapoport (he used to work for Musk's company!) said this will help them build better brain computer interfaces. More data means more power ups capiche?
