A Galaxy Far Far Away... or Just Rhode Island?

Alright this is the Mando. I heard about Rhode Island the small planet – err state – that’s making some noise about banning what they call 'assault weapons'. Sounds like the kind of mess that could get you vaporized real quick. I have spoken. Apparently the Democratic House has passed this thing and it’s heading to the Governor's desk. Reminds me of the time I had to deal with those pesky Jawas trying to scrap my Razor Crest. Always something needing fixing.

Beskar vs. AR 15: A Question of Protection

These gun control advocates have been pushing this for a decade. Ten years! That’s like a whole Mythosaur cycle. They’re worried about 'high powered firearms' and mass shootings. Honestly I get it. No one wants to end up like that time on Navarro when Moff Gideon brought out the big guns. But banning blasters doesn't solve everything does it? This is the way?

Sale vs. Possession: A Mandalorian's Dilemma

The tricky part is this bill only stops the sale and manufacturing not the owning of weapons. So basically it's like saying you can have your Amban phase pulse blaster but you can’t buy a new one. Makes about as much sense as a Sarlacc pit in a snowstorm. Only Washington state does that too apparently. I could always get one in New Hampshire. It’s not like I can't find what I need. I have spoken.

The Hogg Wild Card

Now here's where it gets interesting. Even some of the gun control fellas think this ban is weaker than a Loth cat. David Hogg a survivor of some shooting said it's the 'weakest assault weapons ban in the country'. Seems like everyone's got an opinion just like in the Mos Eisley cantina. I have spoken.

Supreme Court Showdown: This is the Way... to More Legal Battles

Critics argue this ban won’t stop criminals just law abiding citizens. Reminds me of those Empire types always blaming the Mandalorians for everything. The Supreme Court might step in too. They already sidestepped one challenge but some justices are itching for a fight. This is the way… to a legal slugfest.

The Price of Freedom: Or Just a New Blaster?

So Rhode Island might be heading down a bumpy road like trying to navigate the Kessel Run. Will this ban make things safer? Will it get struck down? All I know is a Mandalorian's gotta be ready for anything. And maybe stock up on some spare blaster parts… just in case. I have spoken.
