But even I can smell trouble brewing in the labor market. This ADP report...it's like a Jawa selling you a sandcrawler with a busted motivator. Claims only 37,000 net new hires. That's less impressive than a Stormtrooper's aim. I have spoken. This is not the way.

Now I've seen bigger disagreements than the difference between ADP and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Like say whether to eat a live squid or a slightly less live squid. But the fact remains these two reports can't agree on kriff all. Last month ADP reported 60,000 new jobs while the BLS claimed 167,000. That's a bigger gap than the one between me and a decent cup of caf.

Small Business Blues: Tariffs and Tribulations

Turns out small businesses are sweating more than a Gamorrean guard in a sauna. They're worried about these tariffs see? Importing goods is getting trickier than navigating the Kessel Run with a faulty hyperdrive. These small cap stocks are also reflecting this sentiment. Down nearly 6% year to date. I would be concerned if I owned any of these stocks. I have spoken.

The eggheads on Wall Street? Shrugging it off like a blaster bolt to a Mandalorian helmet. They're sticking to their guns predicting 125,000 new nonfarm payrolls in the BLS report. I'm starting to think these economists are more delusional than a Jawa trying to sell me a working droid. This is definitely not the way.

Now not everyone's writing ADP off as Bantha fodder. Some folks like this Bill Adams from Comerica think it's a decent preview. They say ADP has real time data on over 25 million workers. Maybe they're onto something. Or maybe they're just trying to sell me snake oil. I don't know what to believe anymore. I need a drink. Maybe some spotchka. This is the way?

The Way Forward: Wait and See Then Vaporize Doubts

Look I'm no economist. I'm a Mandalorian. I hunt bounties protect the Child (Grogu) and vaporize anyone who gets in my way. But even I know that the economy is more unpredictable than a pack of Tookas on a sugar rush. We'll see what the official numbers say on Friday.
