Beskar Brace Yourselves: Oil Prices Incoming
A Mando doesn't usually deal with markets and credits but even I can see the dust up between Israel and Iran is about to make things… complicated. Analysts are scratching their heads like Jawas trying to fix a hyperdrive trying to figure out how high these oil prices are gonna jump. Israel hit Iran's military and nuke stuff and now they're trading blows like a couple of Gamorreans in a mud pit. The U.S. President this Trump fella is demanding an "unconditional surrender." Sounds like something Moff Gideon would say. This is not the way.
The Strait of Hormuz: A Mandalorian's Nightmare Fuel
The big worry? This Strait of Hormuz. If Iran shuts that down it's like closing the only route off a desert planet. No fuel no movement just sand and bad attitudes. One analyst this John Evans fella says there's a "blanket of unease" over the market. A blanket of unease? Sounds like how I feel when I lose sight of Grogu in a crowded marketplace. "I have spoken."
Kaboom! Energy Infrastructure Takes a Hit
So Israel hit some gas field. Iran retaliated by hitting some refinery. Seems like everyone's trying to blow up the galaxy. These big oil company bosses from TotalEnergies Shell and EnQuest are squawking about "serious consequences." Well duh. You don't poke a rancor and expect it to say thank you.
A Credit is a Credit Even When It's Burning
Right now oil prices are doing the Kessel Run – all over the place. Up down sideways. Some fancy futures are trading for around 75 credits a barrel. This Per Lekander guy from Clean Energy Transition says things were already "bad" before all this started. Now he thinks prices might drop after the fighting ends. Sounds like wishful thinking to me.
Roulette with Rockets: Place Your Bets
Lekander says there's a "$10 risk premium" baked into the price. That's like paying extra for a blaster that might explode in your face. Everything hinges on whether flows out of the Persian Gulf are disrupted. As a Mandalorian I can attest that a disruption to your flow is dangerous. This is the way.
This is the Way... To Triple Digit Oil Prices?
This Stephen Schork fella from The Schork Report he's saying oil could hit $103 a barrel within weeks if things get really ugly. And if the Strait of Hormuz goes dark? We're talking $160. At those prices even a Mandalorian might have to start taking the bus. I have spoken.
