A Blast From the Past...Or is it?
Alright alright settle down. Mando's got a gig here reporting on...Cadillacs? Seems these fellas at General Motors are trying to dust off their old 'standard of the world' trophy. Walking into their HQ is like stepping into a carbonite chamber from the '50s. I've seen less rusty equipment on a Jawa sandcrawler. Seems like they're aiming for a comeback which is more than I can say for some bounties I've chased. This is the way...back to the future apparently.
Luxury Wars: This Isn't the End It's Just the Beginning
So Cadillac wants to play with the big boys: BMW Mercedes even those shiny new electric speeders from Tesla. And Lincoln? Ha! They're selling a third of what Cadillac is. The luxury market is a dogfight and the margins are higher than a Beskar ingot's price tag. Reuss the big cheese at GM is all fired up about making Cadillac 'the' American luxury brand again. Says there aren't many left. Well last I checked American made meant quality. Let's hope these Cadillacs can back up that claim.
The Reuss Renaissance: A Leader or a Mythosaur?
Word on the street is Reuss is like a protector even a 'spiritual leader' for Cadillac. He's been babying this brand like I protect Grogu though hopefully with fewer near death experiences for everyone involved. They had a few hiccups: China sales took a dive and the electric vehicle rollout wasn't as smooth as a ride in a landspeeder. But they're sticking to the plan which is more than I can say for some of my escape routes. 'This is the way' to see your vision realized. If you have the patience.
Electric Dreams: I Have Spoken
The grand plan hinges on all electric vehicles and the Escalade which is older than Yoda's tax returns. They showed off the Celestiq a $300,000 bespoke vehicle that's supposed to be the bee's knees. But let's be honest it's a gamble bigger than betting on a podrace. Reuss is relaunching it claiming they finally got the software right. Sounds like they had a 'droid malfunction'. Let's hope this relaunch goes better than my last attempt at diplomacy with the Empire.
Value Over Volume: No Disintegrations!
GM used to focus on churning out as many cars as possible like a droid factory on full blast. Now they're trying to focus on quality making sure each Cadillac is worth its weight in credits. They even turned down a Cadillac version of the Corvette because it would have been a parts bin special. Respect. The Celestiq is all hand built and fancy but orders were low. Maybe they should add a Beskar armor option? Just a thought. The foundries on Mandalore are always churning out the best of the best.
Challenges Remain: Never Tell Me the Odds
Wall Street is finally noticing Cadillac probably because all their other investments went belly up. Sales are up in North America but China is a disaster zone. Seems like the local brands are eating their lunch. And then there's Europe. Reuss says they're still focused on those markets but I've seen more successful invasions of fortified Mandalorian bunkers. Cadillac is still trailing behind BMW and Mercedes. But hey they're aiming to 'raise the bar'. Maybe they should start by raising their shields against the competition. This is the way to beat the odds not be beaten by them.

That Celestiq better come with a jetpack for that price.

China is a tough market. Good luck competing with the local brands.

I'll believe it when I see it. Cadillac has been 'relaunching' for years.
